In Japan, Nintendo sent out a special Xenoblade Chronicles 2 message. Director Tetsuya Takahashi wrote up a few words for those who are playing the RPG. It may not have anything earth-shattering, but Takahashi goes over how there’s more to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 other than just pursuing the main story, and mentions how he hopes that players will continue to be engaged with content from the Expansion Pass.

Eiji Aonuma says Breath of the Wild may have been the most enjoyable Zelda game to work on
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 13 Comments
Eiji Aonuma has been involved with the Zelda series for many, many years. Yet out of all of the games he’s contributed to, Breath of the Wild may have been the most enjoyable one to work on.
Aonuma spoke extensively about the process of making Breath of the Wild in the latest issue of Game Informer. The reason why development was so enjoyable was due to the staff working on the game. Aonuma said that the team “took so much initiative, and were always looking at everything in the game with this eye to improve.” Even though Aonuma was worried about how Breath of the Wild would turn out, that feeling started to fade as he saw the staff put Breath of the Wild together.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is off to a strong start in Japan. During the week of January 15, it was the market’s top-seller. Media Create reports first week sales of 67,000 units.
Media Create further states that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle sold through 78.26% of its initial shipment. The Rabbids series isn’t really a big deal in Japan, and pre-orders were a bit on the slow side. However, reservations picked up quite a bit to about 30,000 units. Media Create also says that commercials have made a big impact and have appealed to the family demographic.

Following the reveal of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition during this month’s Nintendo Direct Mini, Japanese magazine Famitsu featured the game with its initial coverage. There wasn’t anything overly new, as it basically reconfirmed what we already knew. That means 29 playable characters, the return of the Challenge Mode from the Wii U version, and the ability to switch between characters on the battlefield as was possible on 3DS.
Also, development on Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is 95% complete. That’s no surprise as the game is just a couple of months out in Japan.
