At the Tokyo Game Show this week, Koei Tecmo revealed Celica as a new playable character for Fire Emblem Warriors. That isn’t the only new character announced at the expo, however.

Two more characters are confirmed. Both Tiki and Caeda are both joining Fire Emblem Warriors.

Caeda was technically known previously due to a leak from the new Nintendo Direct trailer. Tiki was also hinted at from a boxart leak. However, it’s the first time Koei Tecmo is confirming both characters for the game officially.

You can see the first gameplay of Tiki and Caeda below.

Thanks to Amazon’s website, we have a look at the boxart for Snipperclips Plus. Get a look at the packaging image above.

The first hands-on impressions for Doom on Switch were reported yesterday. One of the things we heard is that the performance is 30 frames per second.

Just in case you had any doubt, Bethesda has confirmed that the FPS count is correct. Rolling Stone obtained the following statement from the publisher:

Julian Gollop, creator of the strategy franchise X-COM, nearly could have worked on Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Creative director Davide Soliani had interest in bringing Gollop on board during the early stages of development.

In an interview with PCGamesN, Gollop stated:

“The creative director Davide Soliani is a friend of mine from Ubisoft. When I was at Ubisoft Sofia he was, and still is, working for Ubisoft Milan and I visited him a couple of times. We had conversations about project ideas… he was a fan of my previous games, like Laser Squad [Nemesis] and stuff like that, and he was really into his strategy and turn-based ideas from the beginning.”

Three years or so ago, Soliani gave Gollop a call and asked if he wanted to work on a project with him. It never worked out because Gollop had just left Ubisoft to start working on Chaos Reborn, and he wasn’t aware that it was Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Gollop may have ended up working on the Switch title had he remained with Ubisoft.

Pokken Tournament DX

The European launch trailer for Pokken Tournament DX went live earlier today, and the North American version has come in as well. We have it attached below.

Pokken Tournament DX launched on Switch today. Along with the release, an update has been made available. The game is now at version 1.0.1.

The update isn’t terribly exciting, but Pokken Tournament DX did just come out after all. Nintendo’s lone patch note states: “Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.”

SEGA has prepared an official English version of the new Sonic Forces story trailer that was recently released in Japanese. See it below.

Kotaku editor-in-chief Stephen Totilo reached out to a local New York GameStop yesterday to find out if the store had any Switch units available. Oddly, Totilo was told that he would only be sold the system if he purchased a $50 warranty.

Kotaku editor Cecilia D’Anastasio then called other GameStops and visited a few outlets. Four GameStop locations in New York City did have Switch units in stock, though would only sell them in bundles, which could include just a warranty and a game or a warranty, two games and a case. A number of employees said it was something they “had” to do.
