This week’s ARMS Global Testpunch has come to a close. However, it will be returning next week with another round of sessions. When it does come back, it’ll be bringing in something new.
During an ARMS Global Testpunch stream promoted by Nintendo, it was confirmed that Hoops will be replacing V-Ball. That does actually make sense. Hoops was specifically referenced in the demo’s eShop listing, so players were wondering why it wasn’t available this weekend. Now we have the answer.
Rumor: Nintendo increasing Switch production, targeting 18 million units by March 2018
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 80 Comments
A new report from Financial Times claims that Nintendo is increasing production of Switch. The outlet’s report is based on information obtained from “people close to the company”. With demand not being met and consumers becoming frustrated, production is apparently seeing a boost.
Financial Times says Nintendo “is now targeting Switch hardware production of 18m units for the 12 months ending March 2018.” Nintendo previously set a forecast of ten million units for the current financial year.
For its part, Nintendo is denying an increase of Switch’s production “to that level”. Since its forecast has already been determined, it would be unlikely for the company to come out any say anything official to Financial Times.

Switch will allow for “a completely different Fire Emblem,” will breathe life into characters “like never before”

Tying in with the launch of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, French site Jeuxvideo spoke with three of the game’s developers. They are as follows:
– Masahiro Higuchi (Intelligent Systems), producer on Fire Emblem Echoes, Heroes and Fates
– Hitoshi Yamagami (Nintendo), producer on Fire Emblem Echoes, Fates and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
– Kenta Nakanishi (Nintendo), director on Fire Emblem Echoes
One portion of the interview touched on how Fire Emblem never ended up on Wii U, and the series has had a focus on 3DS over the past few years. Yamagami explained that the series has a “long history of home console games,” and it’s not primarily considered a handheld franchise. Nakanishi chimed in by saying Fire Emblem Switch will allow for something “completely different” while “breathing life into our characters like never before.”

ARMS displays a notification when maintenance is about to happen, can quit Grand Prix and return later
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 10 Comments
The ARMS Global Testpunch has been taking place over the course of various rounds throughout the weekend. There are a couple of things worth highlighting here as we didn’t know about them previously.
First, ARMS can display a system notification when maintenance is about to begin. You can see this in the left-hand corner both in the game and Switch’s home menu. It’s a neat and useful way to inform players when online play is going down for maintenance.
We also have news about Grand Prix. If you want to quit the mode but have already finished a few fights, it won’t be a problem. That’s because you can leave and then return later. It’ll certainly be helpful for those who don’t want to complete Grand Prix all at once.
