Winning Post 8 2017 launches on Switch alongside Champion Jockey Special on September 14; share save data
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch | 3 Comments
Koei Tecmo has announced that, in addition to Champion Jockey Special, the horse racing simulation game Winning Post 8 2017 will also be released on September 14 on the Nintendo Switch. The interesting part is that you can share save data between both games – for example, you can use a horse you raised in Champion Jockey Special as a race horse in Winning Post 8 2017.
An English localization of either game is pretty unlikely, but if can speak Japanese and are a fan of the genre, September 14 looks to be a pretty great day.

During yesterday’s Splatoon 2 Salmon Run segment at Treehouse Live, we got a quick look at some of the weapons that were available to the players, and this confirmed two more returning weapons from the first game: the Jet Squelcher and the Splattershot Jr. We didn’t learn if their sub and special weapons changed compared to the first game, but this is nonetheless good news for fans of those weapons.

New ARMS content likely being revealed at Treehouse Live today
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Nintendo has been gradually making new announcements throughout E3 during their Treehouse Live streams. Today is the last day of the show, and it looks like there will probably at least one more announcement.
The folks over at GameXplain had the chance to interview the producer and the characters designer of ARMS yesterday, and they mentioned that they learned something new about the game, and that that info will likely be shared during an ARMS segment at Treehouse Live today.
Since the game will be released tomorrow, this news will probably be about the free content updates that ARMS will be getting post-launch. We will of course report on this if and when the announcement happens.

Level-5 looking into a new Layton game on Switch; touchscreen controls are an issue
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch | 13 Comments
The next game in the Professor Layton game series, Layton’s Mystery Journey, is out this year – but what’s in store for the series after that? Speaking to Eurogamer, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino has said the following about a possible Layton game on the Nintendo Switch:
I played Zelda. I love the Switch. I think it’s amazing hardware. The problem is, the Layton series does a lot with the touchscreen and pointing. So, the problem with the Switch is, if you play on handheld you can do it, but if you put it on the dock… we’re trying to figure out how that would play into it.
If we can get around that and figure out a way of doing it, definitely we’re looking into putting the next Layton onto the Switch.
At the very least, it’s good to see Level-5 being so frank about it, and it seems they are committed to figuring things out with regards to a Switch game.

Xbox boss would love for Minecraft Switch to have achievements, relationship with Nintendo is “incredibly strong”
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 34 Comments
This information comes from Xbox boss Phil Spencer…
“I don’t know yet. I’m guessing no. And this is a collaborative relationship between Nintendo and I; they don’t have Achievements on their platform. If they want us to, I would love to be able to do it… The relationship with Nintendo is incredibly strong. We obviously did the Mario mash-up pack into Minecraft; that doesn’t happen that often.”
