Nintendo’s latest financial results give us updated numbers for its various million-seller titles. Here’s a look at new sales for Wii U and 3DS games:

Arino Kacho’s Super Mario Maker course going live with next week’s update

The new Super Mario Maker level from Game Center CX’s Arino Kacho will debut next week, Nintendo has announced. Confirmation has also sent out that the course will be made available worldwide. Those who complete it will be able to use a costume based on Arino throughout the game.

European Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water Limited Edition unboxing

Super Mario Maker will let you add up to two checkpoint flags per level

Nintendo announced a substantial update for Super Mario Maker earlier today. Without question, one of the highlights is that mid-level checkpoints will be incorporated.
Nintendo of Europe actually shared another tidbit about checkpoints that was not in the North American announcement. In total, users will be able to place two flags per level. Players will restart from checkpoints instead of the beginning if they lose a life.
The new Super Mario Maker update will be available on November 4.

Splatoon soundtrack sold a total of 43,000 units in its first week

As we previously reported, Splatoon sold 24,000 copies in its first day. Data from Oricon now reveals that it managed to sell a total of 43,000 units in its first week. Overall, the Splatoon soundtrack was the best-selling album in Japan for the week of October 19.

Super Mario Maker getting an update next week – mid-level checkpoints, Event Courses, more

Nintendo has announced a sizable update for Super Mario Maker. This will be made available starting on November 4.
Once the update has been applied, mid-level checkpoints can be used. These flags let players start at the selected point if they lose a life instead of having to start again at the beginning of a level. Existing levels that are edited and re-uploaded can be made with checkpoints as well as entirely brand new ones.
Also coming next week is the addition of Event Courses in the Course World online hub, which feature levels from partner creators outside Nintendo. One of these will be the “Ship Love” from Facebook’s “hackathon” event. You’ll also find a new Official Makers section in Course World that contain specially selected courses, including some created by Nintendo.
Finally, the patch introduces a more challenging version of Gnat Attack and allows players to insert power-ups dependent on Mario’s status. For the latter, by attaching a Super Mushroom to a Fire Flower and placing it inside a block, Mario will receive the Super Mushroom when he is small, and the Fire Flower when he is large.
