The second North American Super Mario Maker commercial is in. We’ve attached it below.

Update: Bumped to the top. Nintendo’s official patch notes have been added in.

Nintendo is releasing a new 598MB Splatoon update in just a couple of days. Version 2.1.0 will arrive Tuesday in North America, and Wednesday in other territories. The breakdown of times is as follows:

– 7 PM PT (Tuesday)
– 10 PM ET (Tuesday)
– 3 AM in the UK (Wednesday)
– 4 AM in Europe (Wednesday)

Prior to the update’s release, Splatoon’s servers will be experiencing maintenance for 70 minutes.

As for the update itself, it’s mostly a means to fix bugs. You can find details about the patch below.

Today, Nintendo launched a new “Survival Guide” video series on its YouTube page for Xenoblade Chronicles X. Five videos are planned in total, and each one will provide information about the game. Take a look at the first one below.

On his personal Facebook page, Devil’s Third creator Tomonobu Itagaki commented on the reviews the Wii U game has been receiving thus far. The average score currently sits at a 41 percent on Metacritic.

Itagaki acknowledged the negative critical reception, but feels that “most of the people reviewing the game weren’t given a chance to evaluate it properly.” Whereas Devil’s Third’s online play was designed “to be enjoyed together with tons of people”, he has the impression that “dozens of reviewers were only allowed to try the game in a closed environment.” Itagaki added that he values player feedback to a much greater extend.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart! Monster Hunter X has taken the top spot, and Dragon Quest XI is quickly climbing up.

All N64 Virtual Console games on the Wii U cost $9.99 – with one exception. Sin & Punishment, which launched on the North American eShop this past Thursday, has an asking price of $11.99.

Those of you who picked up the original Virtual Console release on Wii can upgrade and nab the new Wii U version at a discounted price. Despite the slight increase in cost ($12 as opposed to $10), the upgrade is still just $2 like all other Wii to Wii U upgrades.

Splatoon’s latest European Splatfest is in the books, and the winning side has been announced. Singing managed to beat out dancing thanks to an edge in wins (57 percent versus 43 percent).

Dancing did have a slight majority – 54 percent – in terms of votes. That wasn’t enough to propel them to victory, however.

Singing took home 274 points compared to dancing’s 226 points.
