Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem developer blog post translated
Posted on 9 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Wii U | 2 Comments
Earlier today we posted about two new screenshots of Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem / Illusory Revelations #FE, one of which came from a developer blog post by director Mitsuru Hirata. Now, the folks over at Siliconera have translated that blog post. It’s fairly lengthy, so I’ve placed it after the break.
Two new Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem screenshots
Posted on 9 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in Screenshots, Wii U | 6 Comments
We’ve received two new screenshots for Atlus’ and Nintendo’s upcoming collaboration title Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (or as it’s known in Japan, Illusory Revelations #FE).
The first one comes from Atlus’ Twitter account and shows a female character using a bow during combat. The second one is a bit more interesting – it’s basically an improved version of a scene we saw in the game’s trailer. Director Mitsuru Hirata mentions that, compared to what we saw in the trailer, ground textures have been improved and more objects have been added. I’ve included a screenshot from the trailer for comparison’s sake – the new image is the one without the UI.
Illusory Revelations #FE will be released in Japan in Q4 2015. A Western release is set for next year.
Bloodstained to feature orchestrated tracks, early off-screen footage

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has reached another stretch goal on Kickstarter. When combined with donations received from PayPal, the campaign has exceeded the $3.75 million mark. That means Bloodstained will feature orchestrated tracks.
The latest Kickstarter update reads:
With our Paypal backers included — $118k from more than 1400 backers, as of this morning — you’ve hit the Orchestrated Tracks stretch goal with momentum to burn! It’ll be a while before Yamane and Yamada have all the tracks composed for Bloodstained, but now that you’ve reached this stretch goal they did want to allay one fear a few backers have had: There’s still going to be a ton of variety on this soundtrack.
Hitting the orchestra stretch goal allows them to use live instrumentation where it makes sense, but some tracks just make more sense with electronic arrangements. Songs like Yamada’s “Cursed Orphan”, which already includes violin and electric guitar parts, will be performed by a smaller, rock-oriented ensemble.
In short: You’ve added more options, not taken any away. (And that’s without even going into those 8-bit tracks you unlocked from Yamane, Yamada, and Virt…)
Next up for Bloodstained is an online challenge mode. This will be guaranteed if the Kickstarter hits its $4 million stretch goal.
Last but not least, off-screen footage has been posted to YouTube showing footage from the game. This is intended to show an early animation sample.

Wii U update version 5.4.0 out now
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 38 Comments
Nintendo brought out a new system update for the 3DS last week. This week, Wii U is getting in on the fun. The latest firmware, version 5.4.0, is now available for download.
Sadly, there’s not much to report on in terms of any new features. This one seems to be all about improving stability/the user experience – just like the 3DS upgrade.
As always, you’ll need the latest firmware before you can enter the eShop.

Developer confirms Terraria for Wii U and 3DS
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 3 Comments
We finally have a confirmation that Terraria is in the works for Wii U and 3DS. Ratings for both versions have been listed on various retailers and ratings boards, but publisher 505 Games never made an official announcement. While that still hasn’t changed, developer Re-Logic stepped forward with a confirmation of their own.
“Terraria is indeed coming to Wii U and 3DS,” lead developer Whitney Baird noted on the game’s forum.
We don’t have any information beyond this, but at least we can finally say that Terraria is bound for both of Nintendo’s platforms. I imagine we’ll be hearing more soon enough!
