The Switch version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV has secured a release date – at least in Japan. It’s confirmed for March 18, 2021, according to this week’s issue of Famitsu.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV was previously announced for the west. However, NIS America has only committed to a spring release window.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentations with director Masahiro Sakurai tend to be a bit on the lengthy side. Unsurprisingly, the trend will continue with this week’s broadcast. It’s been confirmed that Mr. Sakurai Presents “Sephiroth” will last about 35 minutes long.

Naturally, the presentation will be aimed at new DLC fighter Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII. Sakurai should be sharing other news as well such as the latest Mii Fighter costumes.

Nintendo has announced the next new character for Dr. Piranha Plant. On December 16 at 10 PM PT / December 17 at 1 AM ET, Dr. Piranha Plant will be added to the mobile game.

Players will also be able to access new stages as part of the latest content update. An image showcasing what’s to come for these levels can be found below.

Fire Emblem Heroes will be hosting its latest summoning event this week. It will feature Sephiran, Bernadetta, Hilda, and Altina as a duo. A Paralogue Story is also planned.

Among Us made it to Switch today, and there’s more to come for the title in the future. Innersloth will be releasing a new map, the Airship, in early 2021.

Switch owners can actually access an early version of the level. GameXplain came across a glitch that lets players access the map, though it’s incomplete.

Ray tracing, which allows for more realistic lighting, only really started to find prominence over the past few years. When you hear the technical term, you tend to think of the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and high-end PCs. But one fan has now made ray tracing possible on the SNES with a modified cartridge.

Ben Carter of Shironeko Labs says he “wanted to try and do was something akin to the Super FX chip used in titles such as Star Fox”. The SuperRT demo works “where the SNES runs the game logic and hands off a scene description to a chip in the cartridge to generate the visuals.”

The Switch version of Sky: Children of the Light was previously delayed to 2021. thatgamecompany has narrowed the launch window down a bit further, today confirming its release for the spring.

Super Mario Bros. 35 will be kicking off its next Special Battle event later this week. The following courses will be featured: 1-4, 2-4, 3-4, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 6-3, 7-1, 8-2, and 8-3. Players will notice that the Bullet Bill enemy appears here.

The new Special Battle goes live on December 18. It’ll last until December 21.

The wait for the Switch version of Dicey Dungeons is over. Distractionware Limited just released the game, and it’s out now on the eShop.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is gearing up for its latest Spirit Board event. This time around, spirits that come in trios will be featured. You can earn triple the amount of experience points and SP as well as additional snacks by defeating them.

The new Spirit Board event goes live on December 18. It’ll last for a total of three days.
