Nintendo and Koei Tecmo revealed Buddy Mission Bond during the last Japanese Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. We now have the game’s boxart above, courtesy of Amazon Japan.
Buddy Mission Bond launches for Switch in Japan on January 29, 2021. A western release has not yet been announced.
NIS America has kicked off a New Year 2021 Sale on the eShops. There are only a couple of titles eligible on 3DS, but there are a bunch for Switch, including Disgaea titles, Langrisser I & II, The Alliance Alive HD Remastered, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, and plenty more.

A new 2.1.3 update was recently made available for Exit the Gungeon on Switch. For the most part, it contains a whole bunch of fixes.

Publisher Forever Entertainment and developer Jujubee have announced that they’re bringing Virus: The Outbreak to Switch. The real-time strategy game is on track for a December 28 release.

Famitsu published one of its year-end features in this week’s issue. 132 game creators and personalities voted on their favorite games of 2020, including Suda51, Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames, Level-5 boss Akihiro Hino, and more. Selections weren’t necessarily restricted to titles that released this year, so a couple of games like Ring Fit Adventure and Pokemon Sword/Shield made the list.

Hobonichi recently set up new Mother shops in Japan based on the EarthBound series. A location previously opened in Osaka for a couple of weeks, followed by another in Tokyo, which will close on December 27.
If you’re an EarthBound series, you’ll find that these shops are almost like treasure troves. There’s a slew of merchandise to pick up such as Mother: The Complete Scripts, plushies, jewelry, and more.
Many fans – especially ones in the west – probably won’t be able to make it to these limited-time shops. However, Twitter user masato_furuya did share a whole bunch of photos a few days ago. We’ve rounded them up below.

It wouldn’t be a holiday without some network overload, which is what seems to taking place with the Switch eShop at the moment. Nintendo says that it is “experiencing difficulties with our network services”.
The Switch eShop may take a few attempts to load, or it may not start up at all. We’ve also seen reports of users being unable to download games. If you make a purchase and it’s not appearing on the home menu, you can rest easy knowing that you’re not alone and it’s a temporary problem.
Nintendo is likely on the case and should be working on any and all issues. Hopefully it’ll all be fixed before too long.
Last week, Excalibur Publishing prepared a new 1.4.5 update for Tracks: Toybox Edition on Switch. It comes with a couple of new elements.
After installing the patch, players can access new skybox options as well as video recording on Switch. The game also now has improved load times.
