Update: Bumped to the top. Nintendo has confirmed the same stages and weapons for Europe (so probably North America as well). We’ve added in the full weapon sets below.
Original: The Splatoon Twitter account has revealed the stages that will be used in the Japanese Splatfest World Premiere tomorrow. It’s not clear if these stages will also be used in the European and North American versions of the Splatfest, though it seems likely that they will be.
In any case, for the first two hours of the Japanese Splatfest, players will be battling on Starfish Main Stage and Inkblot Academy. For the final two hours, fights will be taking place on Moray Towers and Humpback Pump Track. Special nighttime versions of the maps will be used for the Splatfest.
Since this is essentially just a demo version, players won’t be able to use their own weapons. Instead, they will be able to choose from a total of four – Tentatek Splattershot, Splat Dualies, Splat Roller and Splat Charger.
The news about the discontinuation of the New 3DS doesn’t just apply to Japan. Nintendo has now confirmed that the system has also been phased out in Europe.
As for North America, Nintendo said yesterday that there isn’t any impact. That’s because the New 3DS was only offered in special bundles and promotions.
To celebrate the first Splatfest for Splatoon 2, Nintendo has created some special art for the event. You can get a look at it above. Art was also made for the Japanese event, located here.
All sorts of toys were created based on the weapons in the original Splatoon. For Splatoon 2, things are already getting started.
One new toy set to release in Japan is based on the Splat Dualies in Splatoon 2. The water gun is launching alongside the game itself on July 28. It will be priced at 2,980 yen.
Quality of Life is an initiative originally led by late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. We first heard about plans to create a product involving sleep and fatigue at the start of 2014. Since then, nothing has really materialized.
Despite the lack of news over the years, Nintendo once again says that Quality of Life is being pursued. Here’s an excerpt from the company’s annual report:
Moreover, we are working on the development of a new product that improves people’s QOL (Quality of Life) in enjoyable ways. Our aim is to enable consumers to make daily efforts to improve their QOL in a fun manner by
making sleep and fatigue status visible and offering various services based on this information.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas was a notable third-party Switch announcement coming out of E3 last month. Ubisoft is trying out the toys-to-life genre with a new game that offers ship building, flying, and shooting.
Nintendo UK now has a new interview up with Ubisoft Toronto producer Matthew Rose, which goes in-depth with the project. Rose explained the gameplay, the technology being used, why it’s a fit on Switch, and much more. Read up on Rose’ comments below.

– Her first class in the original game was a Cleric which could heal allies’ HP, but in this game, she wields an axe and fights on the frontlines by herself

Players have discovered all sorts of neat glitches since the game’s launch in March. Another one has been found, and it could be the most useful one yet – depending on how you look at it.
How does getting unlimited Korok Seeds sound? Or how about an infinite supply of Hylian Shields? With the newest glitch, both are entirely possible.
The glitch itself is very easy to do. You only need to enter the Trial of the Sword, warp to a Divine Beast that you haven’t finished… and that’s mostly it.
The video below shows the glitch in action. Everything respawns – treasure chests, Sheikah Towers, Shrines. If you’re looking for an easy way to gather 900 Korok Seeds, this is one way to do it. You’ll just need to put in the work to execute the glitch over and over.
