The World Video Game Hall of Fame in its 2017 edition has inducted four new games that deserve it because of how they affected the video game industry: Donkey Kong, Halo: Combat Evolved, Pokémon Red & Green, and Street Fighter II.

The original Donkey Kong arcade game has been inducted because of how it helped to launch the career of one Shigeru Miyamoto, as well as counting as the first appearance of characters Donkey Kong and Super Mario (who was known as Jumpman).

Amazon Canada has opened up pre-orders for the New 2DS XL. You can reserve one for yourself right here. In Canada, the New 2DS XL is priced at $199.99.

The Android version of Pokemon GO has added a new feature. Although it doesn’t have much functionality yet, it will be possible to redeem promo codes in the future.

Players will be able to redeem codes by going through the following steps:

  1. In the Map View, touch the Main Menu button.
  2. Touch Shop button.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, enter the promo code in the text field.
  4. Touch Redeem.

Once a code is redeemed, a notification will display the items added to your inventory.

To reiterate, this feature is only included in the Android version of Pokemon GO. That being said, it will likely be added on iOS in the future.

Nintendo released a new video today showcasing a few European digital game highlights from April 2017. You can watch it below.

A few months ago, Rebellion announced a remaster of its 2006 shooter Rogue Trooper, now called Rogue Trooper Redux. It will be heading to Switch in the near future.

A new “Who is Rogue Trooper?” video feature was published for the game today, detailing Rogue. The clip covers the blue-skinned soldier’s origins and offers a glimpse at his new remastered, in-game character model.

Below is the video:

And an overview of Rogue:

“Rogue is one of the Genetic Infantrymen (‘GIs’), an army of bio-engineered soldiers, created by Southers to fight their all out war against the colonial Nort regime. Not only can GIs survive the poisonous surface of Nu Earth unharmed, but their enhanced abilities make them a phenomenal force.

And yet, Rogue is the last GI standing following a devastating massacre that all but wipes out his kind. Carrying the consciousnesses of three fallen comrades as biochips implanted in his equipment, enhancing his powers further, Rogue transforms from super soldier into a one-man squad of death and destruction. He knows no allegiance but to his own mission, and he is hell-bent on completing it. That mission is REVENGE.”
