Update: This actually is a returning brand from the first Splatoon. It’s known as Tentatek in the English version.

Original: The Splatoon Twitter account provided another brief update on Splatoon 2 today – this time, it’s another new clothing brand. “Arome” (the official English name will likely be different) are known for producing high-tech sneakers, such as the model you see below. Ratalakia Games brought Plantera to Wii U and 3DS earlier this year. The game is now making its way to Switch as well. Rainy Frog is releasing it in Japan as “Plantera DX”, but Ratalakia may choose to handle the western release.

Here’s a trailer:

For those who haven’t heard about Plantera previously, we have the following overview:

“In the world of Plantera you grow your own garden and breed plants and animals to earn coins with their produce. Use the coins to buy new plants and animals, and also special items and garden expansions. Watch everything grow, help planting and harvesting, buy new things, and defend your garden from sneaky magpies, rabbits, foxes, and wolves. Raise your level and the productivity of your plants and animals! Earn more and more, and create your own dream garden!”

We reviewed Plantera when it originally hit Nintendo platforms in February. You can read it right here.

Last week’s issue of Famitsu contained another information batch for FuRyu’s 3DS RPG, The Alliance Alive. We’re introduced to two new party characters and a couple of new locations.

Here’s what we learned:

The original Splatoon introduced map rotations for online play. At four hour intervals, two stages would be available at a given time.

Splatoon 2 retains this for the most part, but with a significant change. Maps will now refresh every two hours instead of every four hours.

As for why the map rotation is being limited once again, Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami explained to EDGE this month:

“We feel that part of the gameplay is actually selecting which weapons would be best for that combination of two maps. In Splatoon 2, the maps rotate every two hours, so it’ll be a much faster cycle than the previous game.”
