Capcom published another pair of Monster Hunter XX commercials today. Both are a bit nontraditional, as they’re mainly served for promoting the game online and are on the lengthy side. You can watch them below.
In addition to the Starter Support event, those of you playing Fire Emblem Heroes on an Android device will find another nice surprise waiting for you: a free 4-star (female) Corrin. While she’s not the most powerful unit ever, she might be a good candidate to test the new skill inheritance system.
Again, she is only being sent out to Android users – no such luck for people playing the game on an Apple device.
To follow up on our earlier article on Nintendo’s plans to double the amount of Switch console’s produced in the next fiscal year, Nintendo will naturally expect to sell more of those units as well.
All of this comes from sources from the Wall Street Journal, and while they have traditionally been very reliable with matters like this, take this with a grain of salt. As we reported earlier, Nintendo plans to produce 16 million Switch units in the next fiscal year (April 2017 – March 2018). In that period, according to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo plans to sell a total of 10 million of them. Adding to that the 2.5 million units Nintendo has targeted for this fiscal year (i.e. this March), this would bring the Switch’s expected first year sales to about 12.5 million. Certainly an ambitious goal, but given the Switch’s strong launch sales and positive buzz, definitely not impossible.
We will likely hear an official statement regarding Nintendo’s Switch plans at the company’s Fiscal Year Earnings release on April 27th.
Yacht Club Games had the honor of making the first ever third party amiibo with Shovel Knight – and it sounds like they’d be up for making some more. In an interview with Gadgets 360, Yacht Club Games director Sean Velasco had the following to say about the possibility of more amiibo from them:
“As far as more amiibo go… man, wouldn’t it be cool to see amiibo of Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and King Knight!? That would be amazing. Maybe some day.”
Of course, this might just be wishful thinking on Velasco’s part and he might not be teasing anything specific, but given how successful Shovel Knight has been and Yacht Club Games’ close relationship with Nintendo, it’s certainly not impossible.
FuRyu released another lengthy trailer for their upcoming 3DS game The Alliance Alive which gives a good overview of the game’s setting, characters, combat and various other features. Check it out:
Fire Emblem Heroes is running a special event called the 3-part Starter Support event. The event will run until April 2, during which players will earn 2 Orbs as a log-in bonus and earn 1.5 times XP. Furthermore, there are two special maps available for the event, one of which is live now. The maps will give 3 Orbs for completing them, and each will have two difficulties to do so.
At SXSW, SEGA had a poster on hand for Sonic Mania featuring brand new art of the game. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are all present in the image. Have a look at it above.
Nintendo is set to double the amount of Switch consoles in production, according to the Wall Street Journal. This production would start on April 1, and it would see the company manufacturing at least 16 million units. The Wall Street Journal also notes that this momentum is similar to that of the Wii.

On his personal Twitter page, SEGA’s Shun Nakamura announced that he is the producer of Sonic Forces. Let’s talk about his previous roles at the company.
Most will likely attach Nakamura to the very disappointing Sonic the Hedgehog title from 2006, as he was the game’s director. He’s done much more than that, however. Nakamura was also the director of Samba de Amigo, Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Nakamura was involved with a number of previous Sonic games as well.
