Internet chatter has been making the rounds as of late about GameStop and Target cancelling some Switch pre-orders. Reports have claimed that shortages are involved, resulting in the end of reservations.
However, GameStop has now responded, and firmly denies that any cancelled pre-orders are stemming from allocation issues. Those who are experiencing any problems are advised to reach out to the Guest Care team.
GameStop’s full statement is as follows:
“GameStop has not, and is not, cancelling any Nintendo Switch pre-orders due to allocation issues. We are working very closely to confirm and validate any and all pre-orders of this innovative gaming system. Should any customer who pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch console from GameStop experience any issue with their order, we encourage them to contact our Guest Care team so we can help resolve the issue.”
TIME has posted a lengthy interview with Nintendo director Shinya Takahashi and Switch producer Yoshiaki Koizumi about the company’s brand new console. There were lots of interesting comments here, such as how it can be a means of bridging portables / consoles and striking a balance between fun and graphics. The two also spoke about how they personally met with third-parties and showed off 1-2-Switch, Snipperclips, and more.
Read on below for a rundown of Takahashi and Koizumi’s comments. TIME’s piece can be found here for a few more remarks.
RPG Maker Fes will be released outside of Japan, a classification listing from Australia reveals. NIS America will handle the game in the west.
RPG Maker Fes has not been officially revealed for North America or Europe just yet. However, we do know that NIS America is holding a press event later this month, and 3DS news was teased among the upcoming announcements. We expect to hear something officially at the event, which takes place on February 17.
In Japan, RPG Maker Fes launched on November 24. It allows users to create their own RPGs without having to be familiar with programming, and creations can be shared online with others. A free RPG Maker Fes Player also came out at around the same time on the eShop. The downloadable app makes it so games created in RPG Maker Fes can be played for free.
In the past, the US eShop hasn’t allowed for the use of non-American credit and debit cards. It looks like that just changed recently, however. These payment options are now fully compatible.
We should note that only the 3DS has been tested so far. There really wouldn’t be much of a reason for the restriction to still be in place on Wii U though. If we hear anything otherwise, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Those who pick up The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will be entitled to a free set of goodies. Today, Nicalis revealed what’s included in the package.
Of course, a physical copy of the game is included. It’ll also come with reversible cover art and two exclusive sticker sheets.
Worth noting, The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is down to $35.47 on Amazon. Prime members can get it for $31.99.
Nefarious recently debuted on Steam, and footage is beginning to stream in. Watch 23 minutes of gameplay below.
I C Red made it to the North American Wii U eShop last week. In Europe, it’s coming out next week. An eShop listing has it down for February 16 for €1.49.

Speaking with IGN, Fire Emblem Heroes game director Kouhei Maeda discussed how the new mobile release will be supported in the future.
Maeda told the site:
“We plan to add new stories continually after release, at a pace of about two a month or one every two weeks. We also plan to add things like new characters and skills, as well as new game modes that go in different directions from the current gameplay.”
Nintendo game director Shingo Matsushita added that Fire Emblem Heroes will continued to be worked on as long as players continue to support it.
Fire Emblem Heroes added in a new Launch Celebration Map under its Special Maps listing earlier today. For a look at the new content, see the video below.
EA has now officially come out and said that it’s new FIFA title for Switch will indeed be FIFA 18. While that was largely expected, it had only been labeled previously as just “FIFA”.
EA’s chief competitive officer, Peter Moore, told Gamereactor at a FIFA event held in Paris this weekend:
“Well, as we have said, we are custom-building a FIFA version for the Nintendo Switch. It will be FIFA 18, and it will obviously be later this year when FIFA 18 comes out.”
“And I look forward to seeing the Nintendo Switch. we are not far away from its launch and in fact, here in Paris, I was very impressed to see FNAC stores with Nintendo Switch in the windows.”
Gamereactor also asked about FIFA for Switch being a slimmed down version of the game on other platforms in light of rumors that it’ll be closer to the PS3 and Xbox 360 edition. He said in response, “What you have will be a custom built version for the Nintendo Switch from the FIFA development team in Vancouver.”
