If you’d like to give 3Souls a try before making a purchase, you’ll be able to do so as of next week. A demo for the game will be released on the Wii U eShop next Thursday.
Red Column shared the news on Twitter with the following message:

Update: Bumped to the top. Here’s an official comment provided to Kotaku about the situation.
“As a result of a number of Nintendo 3DS users using unauthorized versions of several games, and connecting to the official game servers in violation of our terms of service, these users’ Nintendo 3DS systems that stored the unauthorized game code have been banned from Nintendo’s online network effective immediately.”
Original: Those with illegal copies of Pokemon Sun/Moon are being hit with Nintendo’s ban hammer. If you pirated the game and attempt to use online services on 3DS, you will be unable to do so. It seems to be a 15-day punishment if you haven’t committed similar acts before, but it’s permanent if you’ve stirred up trouble in the past.
The message 3DS users receive simply states that Nintendo has restricted access to online services. To obtain help, they’re advised to visit support.nintendo.com.
Wario Land: Shake It previously came to the European and Japanese Wii U eShops earlier in the year. As of tomorrow, North American fans will have an opportunity to play the game as well.
Nintendo’s website contains the following overview:
“Wario returns to form, with all the jumping, power-dashing and butt-stomping we’ve come to expect. With the Wii Remote controller turned sideways, veterans and newcomers alike can run, jump and smash their way through hectic side-scrolling stages. By shaking the Wii Remote, you can shake down your enemies, free coins from treasure bags and even cause earthquakes. Each stage is a masterfully crafted side-scrolling obstacle course of puzzles, enemies and assorted hazards. Every stage holds numerous secrets and treasures to discover (and steal). There are also multiple ‘missions’ in each stage to keep you coming back again and again to unlock everything, collect more coins or just improve your best time.”
Pricing for Wario Land: Shake It! is set at $19.99.
Today, Polygon published a lengthy interview with Valhalla Game Studios head Tomonobu Itagaki. Much of the discussion centered around the ill-fated Wii U game Devil’s Third. He chatted about its origins and how it ended up on Wii U, Nintendo of America’s handling of the game, and the negative critical reception.
We’ve picked out notable excerpts from the interview below. Be sure to read the entire piece on Polygon here as well.
A surprising title is making its way to the North American Wii U Virtual Console this week. Tomorrow, Excitebike 64 will be available on the eShop, Nintendo’s website reveals.
Here’s a brief overview:
“Grind your way through the extreme sport of motocross, and attempt over a dozen outrageous tricks, such as heel clickers, cliffhangers, and bar hops! Select from six different riders—each with their own unique style—and race across 20 stadium tracks and outdoor courses. You can also create your very own courses or race against up to four friends.”
Excitebike 64 will cost $9.99.

Shigeru Miyamoto is another year older today. Nintendo’s legendary game designer is now 64 years old.
Miyamoto has of course been a key part of Nintendo’s history as the creator of Mario, Zelda, and plenty of other big franchises. He was given the title of “Creative Fellow” last year, but remains very involved with the company’s various projects.
Here’s hoping Miyamoto has a fantastic birthday and a great year ahead!
THQ Nordic made a new Darksiders Warmastered Edition trailer today, which is now available for viewing. See it below.
In other news, Darksiders Warmastered Edition no longer has a concrete date on Wii U. It was originally planned for October 25, before being moved to November 22. THQ Nordic now says the Wii U version will release “at a later stage.”
