Nintendo has now posted the complete video of the Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins animated short on its YouTube page. We’ve included it below.
A fresh batch of Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice details have emerged via a listing on Play-Asia. The retailer’s overview has information about the plot as well as gameplay.
Here’s the full description:
The super villain, Dr. Eggman, discovers a powerful Ragnium element in Ragna Rock island which can fuel his robots and make them faster than Sonic. He then commands his mining robots to search the mythical island. D-Fekt, as one of them malfunctions and is now able to magnetize everything except Ragnium. With this capability, D-Fekt gains more power and messes up the environment of other islands creating fire and ice! Dr. Eggman makes him one of Island Defenders and now ready to face Team Sonic!
Together with our main protagonist, his friends return in their revamped version with their powers still fully intact. Adding to the lineup of playable characters is their friend, Amy Rose. Stop villains, retrieve islands, and bring back the balance in the environment using Sonic’s speed, Tail’s flight, Knuckles’ strength, Sticks’ boomerang, and Amy’s hammer! Mix their unique abilities with the power of fire and ice to pass through obstacles, solve puzzles, and freeze enemies!
Battle with four huge bosses which occupy both 3DS screens! Test your character’s speed and compete in an all-new Bot Racing game with 2 players local play. Play six exploration-based levels and bonus stages such as halfpipe run like the Special Stage from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, calmer underwater stage where a player pilots the Sea Fox and look for collectibles, and third stage which the player pilots a hovercraft and dodges icebergs.
Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will be out in stores on September 27 in North America and September 30 in Europe.
Somewhat unexpectedly, a demo for Pocket Card Jockey has appeared on the North American 3DS eShop (requires 89.25MB of free space / 714 blocks). We knew that Europe would be receiving the download, but there hadn’t been any news for folks residing in the states. An official announcement will likely be made with tomorrow’s Nintendo Download press release.
For those who haven’t heard of Pocket Card Jockey previously, read up on the following description:
3, 2, 1… Go! Stack cards like it’s a race to the finish. And it is! In this fast-paced mash-up of solitaire and horse racing, you’ll jockey your way to victory by clearing cards to energize your horse. You can even level up your noble steed through strategic positioning on the track. Can you master solitaire and horseback racing… at the same time?!
After you get a dozen races under your belt, you can retire your horse – a sad moment for any jockey. However! You can relocate your horse to your very own farm and pair them with other retired horses to breed new ponies… that are completely adorable! Eventually these babies will pony up by maturing into horses that you can ride in competitions for prizes. You can then get items at Chirp’s shop, such as puzzle pieces or temporary bonuses. After completing certain puzzles, your hose will even gain more stats when leveling up. That’s some next-level jockeying!
Pocket Card Jockey has a general May release window in North America. It’s set for May 5 in Europe.

Over the years we’ve seen the Star Fox series take many new directions in its style of gameplay simply to shake things up from standard air combat. Whether it be shooting rocket launchers in a battlefield or saving a planet of dinosaurs, Fox McCloud has done it all. Now, with Star Fox Zero, Nintendo has finally decided to reconnect with the series’ roots in an attempt to build upon the formula that worked so well in the series’ origins.

During E3 2014, Nintendo showed off a couple of demos that were meant to highlight some of the more unique uses of the Wii U GamePad. Two years later, fans would hear nothing about either of them until the March Nintendo Direct of this year where it was announced that one of the demos, Project Guard, had been completed. Enter Star Fox Guard, a companion game to coincide with the release of the newest entry in the Star Fox series, Star Fox Zero. Nintendo’s spin-off games of popular franchises have proven to be hit-or-miss over the years, so just how well does this title fare?
Polygon has put up the latest video in its “Devs Make Mario” series. In today’s feature, La-Mulana and La-Mulana 2 director Takumi Naramura creates a level in the game. View it below.

Double Fine and Abstraction Games are working together to bring 140 to new platforms, including Wii U and 3DS.
The “challenging minimalistic platformer” originally debuted in 2013. In the game, players will need “rhythmic awareness to overcome obstacles which are controlled by an energetic, yet melancholic electronic soundtrack.”
140 is planned for a summer release on Nintendo platforms. Take a look at a trailer below.
Next Thursday, Circle Entertainment will be bringing ASH to the North American 3DS eShop, priced at $3.99. It’s a new turn-based RPG “featuring a massive, fully-realized world with lush visuals, and a wonderfully compelling story.”
We’ve attached a video below, in addition to a brief overview.
These are strange days for Aghaus. By order of the Magistrate, the Royal Guard is to assemble for deployment in two days’ time. It has been years since I last left the capital, and further still that I can remember such a command being issued! But what need is there for a Royal Guard, when no King sits upon the throne? Though my oath binds me to his service, the Magistrate is not my liege. He rules in the absence of a rightful heir.
