Last week it was revealed that several Nintendo characters like Lucina and Chrom from Fire Emblem would be joining the cast of Project X Zone 2. Today, we have confirmation of a couple of non-Nintendo characters appearing in the game via some Korean language screenshots of the game.

The most striking addition is probably Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue. Also joining the cast is Ingrid from Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. Finally, the screenshots confirm that Estelle from Tales of Vesperia is returning from the first game.

The official Japanese Tri Force Heroes website updated today with some infos about the “world” of the game. Some of the info we already knew about, like the fact that the game consists of 32 levels. At the beginning of each stage, each player picks one out of the following nine weapons:

  • sword
  • bow
  • bombs
  • hookshot
  • boomerang
  • fire gloves
  • water rod
  • ice jar
  • hammer

There are also some additional game modes available:

  • Additional special levels which are based on the original 32 levels but with an added twist, like being forced to complete the level with only one heart or while being chased by a Wallmaster. You will be able to earn rare materials this way.
  • Versus Mode: Fight against other players and earn rare materials.
  • a Boss Rush mode, where (surprise!) you will fight against the various bosses found in the 32 levels.
  • Daily Luck: a minigame where you can also earn rare materials.

The website also reveals that you can take screenshots at any time and post them to Miiverse after completing a level.

Finally, check out some new screenshots below:

Nintendo has shared the first commercials for Picross 3D 2, both of which are below. You’ll also find more footage after the break featuring a father and daughter playing the game.

The Ignition Factor is slated for the North American Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow, Nintendo’s website confirms. You’ll be able to pick up the classic title for $7.99.

Here’s the official description from Nintendo’s listing:

“Take control of a brave firefighter as he battles to save people from towering infernos and flame-filled factories. You have a large variety of equipment to help you with your task. The hero isn’t afraid to get physical by kicking objects, climbing ropes, and jumping in order to get to all areas. But time works against you as the fires get gradually worse and you run out of breathable air. Different types of fire need to be extinguished using different methods, so you’ll need to use your equipment to the best of your ability. Enlist the help of the fire engine and your fellow firefighters to extinguish all the flames you can see. Keep your cool to rescue all of the victims, getting them out of the fire and back to safety!”
