Super Mario Sunshine and Pikmin 2 did not run at 60 frames per second back in the day. Thanks to the Dolphin emulator though, this is now possible.
There are some issues – pertaining to audio in particular, which there is a workaround for. The results thus far are certainly impressive.
We’ll also mention that there’s a 120fps hack floating around, but Dolphin Emulation forum member Knuckles500 warns: “There is also a 120fps hack for those with higher frame-rate monitors, but it does begin to break stuff at that point…”
Tomonobu Itagaki didn’t have anything to do with Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden. However, he seems to think that the Wii U game will be released “in many countries.”
Itagaki wrote on Facebook recently:
“Hey guys, I strongly believe that Kikuchi Keisuke (producer) will release the Fatal Frame V in America, in many countries. He and me have same philosophy from Tecmo days. That’s what I can say for now. I want you guys to read between the lines.
Anyway I will play this game :)”.
Don’t take this as any sort of confirmation that the new Fatal Frame is coming to North America and Europe. Still, Itagaki’s words are interesting. You have to wonder why he feels so “strongly” that it will come outside of Japan.

Another noteworthy tidbit coming from today’s European 3DS press release is a release date for IronFall Invasion. According to the announcement, VD-Dev’s title is set to launch on February 13 via the eShop. We’ll let you know if this date ends up applying to North America as well.
