– Make new equipment with materials you collect
– Get rewards with materials based on your score and rank
– You’ll earn rewards at the Results Screen after every mission
– Use materials at the Store Screen to make items
– Over 70 equippable items
– 5 ranks at the end of each mission
– C, B, A, S and SS ranks
– Each rank depends on your score
– Each one also comes with a certain amount of materials and credits
– In order to get a higher score, you’ll need to keep an eye on your Kudos and your completion time
– Get a 50% score bonus by setting a new completion time record for a mission
– Equipment examples:

Ring of Flight: Allows GV to jump once in mid-air at the cost of 150 EP
Ring of Double Flight: Allow GV to jump twice in mid-air using 100 EP
Ring of Airwalking: Allows GV to dash in mid-air for 150 EP

Prodigy Lenses: Recover SP (Skill Points) faster
Cobra Lenses: Reduces time needed to charge “King Cobra” attacks

Square Enix has been sharing more information about Final Fantasy Explorers on its Twitter account. Find the latest details about the 3DS game below.

– The game will have equipment that might bring back memories from the earlier days of the franchise
– The characters we’ve seen thus far have been wearing the default equipment for their respective jobs
– Character appearance changes when you change equipment
– Initially start out with weak gear
– As you collect new material to create better weapons and armor, you’ll be able to take on stronger monsters
– Square Enix says the types of weapons featured in Final Fantasy Explorers will also be worth keeping an eye on
– Popular weapons from the Final Fantasy series like Excalibur, Ragnarok, Kaiser Knuckles, and Hellish Claws will be in Final Fantasy Explorers

Skill examples

– Lightning Sphere (SP Cost: 1) – Spheres of electricity appear around Gunvolt and deliver consecutive damage to enemies
– Electrocaliber (SP Cost: 2) – GV summons a giant blade of electricity that thrusts forward
– Voltic Chain (SP Cost: 3) – Numerous giant chains crisscross the screen and get charged with electricity; the more enemies there are in the area, the more effective the attack
– Healing Voltage (SP Cost: 1) – Gunvolt boosts his body’s electrical system to recover HP

– Gunvolt can also use Psychic Abilities
– Ex: “Afterimage” – activates when GV is hit by an enemy attack, and automatically allows him to dodge attacks for as long as the ability remains active
– Afterimage can’t be used while Gunvolt is using his Lightning Ring attack
– This is another Psychic Ability
– Afterimage and other Psychic Abilities cost Energy Points (EP) to use
– The EP bar is the curved gauge you see underneath GV himself, and if it reaches zero, he overheats
– Recover EP by quickly tapping down on the d-pad twice
– Can also recover with the Recharge skill
– This completely restores EP lost from using Psychic Abilities such as Lightning Ring and Afterimage
– The skill allows Gunvolt to recover immediately from overheating

– At Libertus, Explorers take on requests that take them across all the different parts of the island
– The hometown also has an airship that’s used to travel to different areas and stores
– Crystal is located in the middle of town
– It has some purpose, though it’s currently known
– The Regi Plains is one of the earlier areas of the game
– There’s a giant Crystal that can be seen in the background called the Grand Crystal, which is considered to be the origin of the planet
– The energy from this crystal helped mankind’s expansion and development
– Hibato Volcanoes: a scorching area that flows with magma
– This also happens to be Ifrit’s area of domain, alongside the Bomb monsters seen in many other Final Fantasy titles

Famitsu published a preview for Tales of the World: Reve Unitia, providing a new round of screenshots and details.

Here’s the latest on the game:

– Asbel and Lloyd wake up in the unknown world of Revalia
– Both don’t have any memories of their past aside from their names
– The two then meet Lufres, a young child from the Lufres tribe
– Lufres asks for their help to take on the Vule
– On their way to the Lufres’ village to learn more about the situation from Terun, they meet Natalia
– Natalia also awakened with no recollection of her past, but decides to travel with the group
– When they reach the village, they realize it was under a surprise attack from the Vule
– Protecting the young Lufres, was none other than Flynn Scifo
– The group manage to take care of the Vule to bring momentary safety to the village
– They don’t have any ideas as to why they’ve lost their memories, but they know about Revalia and the danger that Terun and the others are in, as Asbel and friends do everything in their power to help out
– Terun needs to accompany the group of Tales heroes to fight the Vule
– They first needed to make sure that the Lufres’ village could be safe, so they decide to take out the Vule on the nearby roads
– This is where they also happen to meet Rubia
– Leaving behind the young Terun and the others in the village, the Dream Keepers of the Lufres tribe left to a place called Melancolium in order to maintain a barrier to seal a powerful Vule
– Nahato is the most powerful of the Dream Keepers
– Nahato went after the Vule that managed to escape, but exhausted himself upon defeating it
– Nahato learns about Terun and the others failing to summon those from the Awake World, who are capable of fighting against the Vule
– Due to the failed summon, they have been spread across Revalia
– It doesn’t take long for Nahato to meet the just-awakened Yuri and Jade
– Both immediately sensed the dangers of the Vule around them
– After waking up in a completely new world and without their memories, the two immediately ended up fighting right off the bat
– While Nahato needs their help, it seems like Yuri and Jade have questions of their own before agreeing
