Here’s the latest on Hyrule Warriors:

Rod

– Link’s Rod is a magical weapon capable of producing flames
– It’s capable of shooting flames at a large mass of enemies in a wide range
– The Rod will change form depending on the attack method

Zelda

– During the sudden crisis in Hyrule Kingdom, Zelda commands the troops while standing directly on the battlefield
– Dignified beauty with a noble and royal atmosphere
– Zelda has calm eyes capable of assessing the course of the war, calmly defend, and bravely attack
– Uses a rapier as her weapon
– Fights in a flowing manner without wasting a single motion

Midna

– Fairly minded personality, sharp tongue
– Midna’s gentle on one side, but she’s also a strong female lead
– Cia has altered her appearance
– Midna’s currently hunting for Cia to regain her original form
– Midna fights while riding a Shadow Wolf created by magic
– Can ride the wolf straight into the enemies
– Uses her hair to form hands to viciously strike her enemies or pick them up and fling them away

Palace of Twilight

– Hyrule Kingdom exists as the World of Light
– Another world exists as the Twilight Realm
– The Twilight Realm’s royal family lives in this palace
– The residents of the World of Light and the Twilight Realm are unable to travel into each other’s world, but the two worlds have connected again with someone’s magic

Eldin Volcano

– Sparks fly constantly inside the cave of this active volcano
– With nowhere left to go, lava can erupt straight from the walls, interrupting anyone’s path with naturally produced sea of flames
– Mining have been regularly conducted in the back of the cave, in order to collect good quality ore

Enhancement Items:

– These can appear when you defeat an enemy, or they may appear if you break pots
– Pick one up and the power of an item will increase for a certain amount of time
– The powered up bomb will allow you to blow away large amount of enemies

Multiplayer

– One player plays on the GamePad
– The other uses the Wii U Pro Controller or a Wiimote/nunchuck for the TV
– This will allow players to control their characters on their own separate screens

Weak Point

– With strong enemies such as King Dodongo or Lizalfos, there may be opportunities to strike them back after the enemy uses specific attacks
– This opportunity is considered as the weak point
– A gauge will appear on the screen
– It’s possible for the gauge to reduce when you’re exposed to an attack, so feed the gauge for a “Weak Point Smash” before it runs out
– One of the weak point opportunities is when King Dodongo opens his mouth
– If you throw a bomb in there, there will be a huge explosion in his belly
– This will transition into a Weak Point opportunity after this occurs
– Strike repeatedly in order to increase the gauge for a “Weak Point Smash”

– After hearing the townsfolk talking about this girl named Elfrede, he finds out that she’s actually a a spirit girl

Gabrielle:

– Lux and the others saw a girl drowning while exploring a ship
– After defeating a monster and saving this young girl named Gabrielle, she reveals that her nickname is “Rielle-sama”

– E3 demo lets you play as Link, Zelda, Midna, and Impa
– Character menu had 9 slots available
– As Link, you can use the Master Sword or Fire Rod
– Mini-map shows an “X” where an objective is
– Players can decide if they want to try to completely wipe out all enemies everywhere or attempt to drive straight to the objectives
– Each objective led Link to an engagement
– This usually involves defeating a stronger enemy
– When fighting King Dodongo, you’ll fill a second gauge
– Once it filled Link initiated a “weak point” attack, which involved him flying into the air and crashing down on the King Dodongo – killing it instantly.
– The demo concluded with some chatter between the Heroes of Hyrule

– Mikami is a pair of sisters whose bodies are half-human on top and half-centipede on the bottom
– Mikami likes to cause loud thunder and gusts of wind for fun that are so strong they actually break through shinobi spiritual barriers and affect the outside world
– Challenge mode
– In these, players need to clear successive rooms of enemies without being able to heal up
– A band of ten especially powerful spirits are said to be present in the mode
– Their strength are derived from the power of shinobi blood
– Get weapons by clearing rooms
– When clearing a room for the first time, players can start later runs in Spirit Den from that point as they attempt to reach the end
– The game will also feature an alternative set of Special Missions that require players to accomplish obtuse objectives in ways that aren’t viable during normal play

– Beat these missions to gain powerful equippable Shinobi Gems

– Doing so increases attack speed and power for a limited time, as well as enables the free use of Secret Ninja Arts without expending scrolls
– You’ll take damage when an attack doesn’t land on an enemy when using Desperation mode

– There were some rote scenic transformations involving unraveling yarn
– A lot of the scene transformation magic of Epic Yarn doesn’t seem to be present in Woolly World
– Yoshi does transform quite a bit
– When he flutters, his legs turn into a propeller
– When he ground pounds, his body turns into a hammer

Bowser’s Fire Bar Fury

– Set in a square arena in a deadly lava pit
– Use the GamePad gyroscopic abilities to tilt the controller to move two fire bars
– One goes up and down, the other left and right
– Defending characters need to run and jump to avoid the fire bars as the clock counts down

Bowser’s Bad Breath

– Hold the GamePad and tilt left/right to aim a giant Bowser at the other players
– Do so while also pressing A to shoot fireballs
– Defending players can only run around the square arena to avoid the deadly projectiles
– Bowser moves slowly during the game to give them a fighting chance

Bowser’s Painball Pit

– Set in a pinball machine controlled by Browser
– The space is empty except for a large, heavy disc that can either impede the spiked balls Bowser flicks through the machine or trap the other characters
– If a spike ball falls through the bottom of the machine, a new one quickly replaces it to keep two present at all times

Bowser’s Wicked Wheel

– Set in a hamster wheel
– 2 electrified rods on either side
– Shake the Wiimote quickly as it spins to run away from the elctric rod
– The Bowser player swipes on the screen to make the wheel spin as fast as they’d like
– Swipe backwards to stop the wheel
– This causes players to run into the electric rod in front if they don’t stop fast enough
