The European Fantasy Life website was recently updated with a full overview of the Origin Island DLC. For £7.19 (likely $7.99 in North America at launch), players will receive access to a brand new area with additional quests, more character customization elements, and more.

Here’s an important note about online play:

Players who have purchased the Origin Island Expansion Pack cannot connect in multiplayer with players who have not purchased it. Multiplayer connection will only be possible with other owners of the Expansion Pack. The Expansion Pack needs to be activated in-game after purchase, and this can only occur once the main story has been completed.

You can find the European Fantasy Life website here, which includes details about the online functionality as well.

Bandai Namco has released two final DLC packs One Piece: Unlimited World Red. As of now, players can purchase the Zoro Armor Pack and Gladiator Pack.

Overviews of each can be found below. Screenshots are posted above.

Zoro Armor Pack

  • An extra costume for Zoro, allowing him to wear a suit of sturdy, Western-style armor.
  • ‘Watch Your Step’ quest: players need to defeat Black General Franky in this high difficulty quest! Fans will have to use all their offensive power to get the “Old Gold Coin”! Selling it might turn them among the wealthiest pirates!

Gladiator Pack

  • Gladiator Pack is a nice surprise that will let fans wrap themselves in the same gladiator armour that Luffy uses to conceal his identity during the Coliseum tournament.
  • The gladiator armour costume comes with two versions: ‘full’ to show off or ‘light’ to go unnoticed.

The latest Just a Chat is all about last week’s reveal of the Mario Kart 8 DLC. There’s also a tiny bit of talk thrown in about the possibility of DLC in Smash Bros. and the recent Mario Kart 8 update.

Nintendo is working with Level-5 to bring Fantasy Life to the west. The localization is based on the second (and newest) Japanese version, “Fantasy Life Link”.

Nintendo announced yesterday that Fantasy Life players in the west will be able to purchase “Origin Island” DLC, which is described as follows:

The mysterious island will mainly consist of forests, plains and beaches that will be great for fishing. It will also include a giant tower that reaches the sky, which Level-5 will be showing off on their next update.

Here’s the thing: Origin Island appears to be cut from the Fantasy Life Link’s main release. Nintendo and Level-5 are including the online multiplayer from Link, but everything else is being sold as day-one DLC in North America and Europe.

Some will likely view this in two ways. There will be those who are upset by the fact that the content already available in Link will only be available through paid DLC overseas. But on the other hand, some may be pleased with the fact that we’re getting Fantasy Life in the first place, and we will be able to access the extra “Link” content. In Japan, Level-5 did offer owners of the original Fantasy Life to upgrade for a lower price.
