NINTENDO DETAILS NEW Wii U AND NINTENDO 3DS GAMES, MAJOR UPDATES TO CURRENT TITLES, AND A WIDE RANGE OF NEW amiibo

amiibo cards, new Super Smash Bros. characters, Mario Kart 8 in 200cc and an Animal Crossing spin-off game, among the numerous announcements in today’s Nintendo Direct

1st April 2015 – During a Nintendo Direct presentation aired today, Nintendo revealed brand new details about games in its line-up for 2015 and beyond, plus news about major updates to games that fans are already enjoying, as well as the latest on all things amiibo.

An update for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is now live in the European 3DS eShop. Version 1.1 addresses various bugs “in order to provide a smoother gaming experience.”

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D launches this Friday in Europe. North America will be getting it one week later.

Another new reward has been added to the lineup of European Club Nintendo rewards. For 1,500 stars, the Mario Kart 8 folders shown above can be yours. Check out the item rewards page here.

A trio of games published by Nicalis are making their way to the European eShop this summer. 1001 Spikes and Grinsia are planned, and there’s a third mystery title coming as well.

VIZ Media will be distributing the Yo-Kai Watch anime in Europe, the company announced today. Specific details were not shared, but we’ll be hearing more “soon”.

Of course, the big piece of the Yo-Kai Watch puzzle we’re missing is a localization announcement for the games. Hopefully that will happen soon!

Update: Bumped to the top, as the listing has been pulled. Was it discovered too early? Or was it a mistake?


Azure Striker Gunvolt appears to finally be coming to Europe next week, based on a listing from the eShop. The game will apparently arrive on April 4 for €12.99.

This date hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, but eShop listings tend to be spot on these days. We’ll let you know if/when an announcement is made.
