Blossom Tales, a new 2D Zelda-inspired game from FDG Entertainment and Castle Pixel, launched on Switch yesterday. An early report indicates that the game is doing extremely well.

FDG sent out a tweet earlier today stating that Blossom Tales managed to sell double the amount of copies on Switch launch day than the Steam version did in its lifetime. The company wrote:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

It’s been a busy year for Nintendo and Switch, with many titles launching on the platform since its debut in March. With 2017 coming to a close, Nintendo has decided to share a listing of the system’s best-selling games this year. Sort of. There are a couple of caveats to consider.

But first, on with the list:

GamesIndustry has provided new information about gaming sales in the UK this year. The site breaks down the top five publishers by UK sales as well as sales by platform.

In terms of publishers, Nintendo ranks third when it comes to boxed sales. That’s behind EA (16.8%) and Activision Blizzard (15.6%), but ahead of Ubisoft (9.7%) and Sony (8.3%).

GamesIndustry also has the following breakdown of sales by platform in 2017:

Here’s how the numbers stack up for all of the 3D Mario titles after eight weeks:

For comparison’s sake, here are the hardware numbers from last week:

And here are the software charts:

The BIU, the German games industry association, has revealed its sales awards for this past November. Super Mario Odyssey has received the platinum award, which means that it sold between 200,000 and 500,000 copies in November alone. Splatoon 2 got the gold award, meaning that it sold between 100,000 and 200,000 copies.

These are both very impressive numbers, especially since Mario Odyssey launched in October and Splatoon 2 was released all the way back in July.
