Bandai Namco has announced a sequel to Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. Aptly named “Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2”, the game will be released later this year on Wii U, 3DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Here’s the game’s official overview:

Following the colorful characters and world of the PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures animated series, PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures 2 will feature Pac, Spiral and Cylindria in an all-new storyline as they defend PacWorld from the ghoulish army of Lord Betrayus. Players will be able to explore the lands of PacWorld far beyond the bustling streets of Pacopolis and the Netherworld through the depths of the ocean floor and into space.

In order to defeat the havoc-causing ghosts, Pac will need to do what he does best… EAT! Chomping down on the various Power Berries will give Pac a much needed boost to fight back against his enemies. Utilizing the many types of Power Berries from the Tree of Life, Pac will be able to transform into many different and exciting versions of himself, including enhanced versions of returning powers such as Fire Pac and Ice Pac and epic new transformations including the gigantic PacZilla. Pac will also be able to pilot one of many vehicles seen in the show including the Lemon Rocket and Pacerchini, to help his cause to save the world.

Cylindria and Spiral also join in for the action, allowing players to take control of the Pac’s friends in special fast-paced on-rails levels. The two best friends will also be able to assist Pac with a helping hand when players find themselves in tough situations.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will be released in the west, Square Enix announced today. The game will be available in North America and Europe later this year. Check out the game’s debut English trailer above.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nintendo is offering players the opportunity to nearly double the amount of content they can play in the Mario Golf: World Tour game, which launches May 2 for the portable Nintendo 3DS system. With 10 courses and 126 holes (an amount equivalent to previous games in the franchise), extensive multiplayer modes as well as regional and worldwide tournaments, the main game offers plenty of content for golf fans already. But players who can’t get enough golf and want to expand their experiences can purchase up to a total of 108 new downloadable holes and additional Mushroom Kingdom golfers. The DLC opens up further challenging courses for players to enjoy as they test their skills (broadband Internet access is required).

“We’re letting fans expand their experience with Mario Golf: World Tour,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Some players might be content hitting the links on the numerous courses already included with the game, while others will appreciate the option of being able to add to their fairway fun with new courses and characters.”

These include:

– Tecmo Koei is expanding the franchise through a series of new multimedia expansions
– From Kadokawa Corporation, a live-action film starring Seventeen magazine models Ayami Nakajo and Aoi Morikawa is in production for a fall release
– Bilocation director Mari Asato is directing

Both NES Remix games are on Wii U, and only Wii U. They aren’t available on 3DS despite the fact that many of the classes releases represented are available on both of Nintendo platforms.

So why are the NES Remix titles on Wii U only and not 3DS? Director Koichi Hayashida explained to IGN:

“One of the easiest ways to answer that is to say, ‘I was working on 3D World, which was developed on Wii U. So I was already familiar with the system’s architecture and developing for that platform lent itself to the early stages of the project. But, if you step into the shadows a bit more, in order to accomplish what we wanted with NES Remix, and get the effect we wanted out of it and the value that we wanted it to have, we needed some more machine power.”

“I think the Wii U offered that up for us pretty easily, and it just would have been more difficult to do it for the 3DS. I think that’s really the answer. It’s just that the Wii U had the machine power we were looking for in order for us to build the software we envisioned from the get go.’

For the first time in the Smash series, Beam Swords will feature graduated colors. The attack item on the left is the Fire Bar. This is a peculiar weapon that becomes shorter after each swing.
