With Kirby and the Forgotten Land marking the series’ first true attempt at 3D gameplay, some have compared it to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the sense that it took a new direction for the franchise. Kirby director Shinya Kumazaki has now shared his thoughts on this.
Speaking with IGN, Kumazaki stated:
[Let’s Talk] Are you sold on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Less than two months before the game’s launch, Nintendo finally provided its longest look yet at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom this week. Eiji Aonuma, the series’ producer, showed off the title with about ten minutes of footage. We were treated to footage of Link’s new abilities, the sky islands, and more.
There are probably many fans out there who were on board with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom when it was first announced in 2019. However, there are also a good chunk of fans that have probably maintained some skepticism. Perhaps after this week’s gameplay video, some folks will feel more strongly one way or another.
What side of the fence are you sitting on? Are you primed and ready for the May 12 launch? Or do you need to see more before you’re on board? Let us know in the comments.
[Review] Have a Nice Death
Posted on 1 year ago by Nicholas Serpa in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release Date: March 22, 2023
Developer: Magic Design Studios
Publisher: Gearbox
Typically, when I’m craving some side-scrolling action, roguelike games aren’t my go-to. Simple procedurally generated levels, frustrating or unrewarding progression loops, and by-the-numbers combat have plagued my experiences in the genre, so I’m perhaps a bit more skeptical than others of run-based titles. Fortunately, Have a Nice Death is not only an exception to this trend, but also one of the tightest, most creative, and most satisfying roguelikes I’ve ever played. It’s an example of what a talented team with a strong vision can accomplish, and its fine-tuned concoction of charm and challenge resulted in constant fun.

Kirby director Shinya Kumazaki told the site that HAL Laboratory’s goal is always to “provide a new gameplay experience.” Instead of simply remaking games because they can, there has to be something new to it. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe not only introduces the new Magolor Epilogue, but also Merry Magolor theme park with additional mini-games.
