A huge discussion about the amazing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct
Posted on 2 years ago by Luiz in Features, Switch | 0 comments
This past week, Nintendo finally presented a “June Direct”. However, rather than being a general one like many had been hoping for, the broadcast was totally focused on Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The game is coming out in just a matter of weeks and we were given tons of information about the story, exploration, and combat.
With that in mind, I decided to invite one of our editors, Nicolas, to talk about everything that we saw during the event. We are both big fans of the franchise, and in this huge discussion, we shared our impressions of what was shown. You can check out the full discussion down below.

[Preview] Glitch Busters: Stuck on You is a magnetic, clever shooter designed for co-op chaos

As someone who mostly plays single-player games, it takes something special for me to really get excited about digging my heels into a cooperative-focused experience. Glitch Busters: Stuck on You, an upcoming cartoon-styled third-person shooter with platforming and puzzle elements, seems to be checking all the right boxes. Not only does it have a striking and vibrant art style that plops 2D character cut-outs into a colorful 3D world, its clever use of magnets as a gameplay mechanic made Glitch Busters one of the most fun games that I played at Summer Game Fest.
Miyamoto originally wanted Zelda: The Wind Waker to be realistic, “cringed” when he saw the art style

Many fans weren’t initially on board with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker after seeing the game’s art style, and that apparently applies to series creator Shigeru Miyamoto as well.
DidYouKnowGaming has been digging up some old interviews pertaining to the game. In one discussion featured in Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream, it was revealed that Miyamoto apparently “cringed” after seeing how the visuals and had doubts about its ability to sell.

[Let’s Talk] Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Nintendo Direct reactions
Posted on 2 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
We didn’t get a general Nintendo Direct this week, but we did see a game-specific presentation for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Nintendo went over a lot that was previously known, but showed off some new stuff as well. There was also lots of gameplay to check out before next month’s launch. You can check out the full recap announcement here.
Funnily enough, one of the more noteworthy pieces of information shared is that the game is getting an Expansion Pass, just like the last entry in the series. Nintendo and Monolith Soft will be rolling out new content in four waves through the end of 2023 which will be capped off by a new story scenario. Oh, and amiibo will be supported, including the Shulk figure that grants players the look of the Monado when using the Swordfighter class.
With everything that was shown earlier this week, how are you feeling about the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct and the game specifically? What are your thoughts on the Expansion Pass? Will you be picking everything up? Let us know in the comments below.
[Preview] Hands-on with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R
Posted on 2 years ago by Nicholas Serpa in News | 0 comments
For a multimedia franchise that’s been around for 35 years, it’s been a while since JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure received a AAA game on home consoles, with 2016’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven being the most recent non-phone release. That’s why fans of the franchise have been excited for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R – a remaster of the 2014 fighting game that preceded Eyes of Heaven – which is coming to Switch and other platforms on September 2. I recently had an opportunity to play a small portion of the game and speak with the folks from Bandai Namco to learn more about what’s new in this enhanced version of the fanservice-filled fighter.
We generated a new summer Nintendo render out of AI

It’s summertime again (at least in the US), and around the time that Nintendo partakes in their sporadic tradition of creating renders of their characters in summer scenes. These are most commonly used for promotional images and can vary from individual renders of characters in a void space (such as this image of Peach with ice cream) or detailed scenes of characters in a natural environment (such as Mario lounging on the beach with sailboats in the background).
However, regardless of the content and the intended use of these images, they almost always cause speculation on upcoming game releases. An example of this comes from 2019 when this artwork of Mario eating a watermelon had people swearing that Super Mario Sunshine was coming to Switch. Since these theories never seem to bear any fruit (Super Mario Sunshine did eventually come to Switch, but there was no relation to the watermelon render), we figured instead of analyzing past renders that Nintendo has released, it might be fun to make our own.

[Review] Mario Strikers: Battle League
Posted on 2 years ago by Dennis Gagliardotto(@LyonHart_) in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: June 10, 2022
Developer: Next Level Games
Publisher: Nintendo
With its previous outings on GameCube and Wii, Mario had his own take on soccer (or football) that felt exciting and fresh at the time. A cast of characters from the franchise made up a roster for players to choose from and jump into a field with the basic rules of the sport in place, but with a few more mechanics that would further excite the gameplay – elements like specials, tackles, and specialized stadiums that certainly made the entire experience feel very, well, Mario. With little to no fouls to worry about, Mario Strikers was always a frenetic perspective on the traditional sport. Mario Strikers: Battle League has increased that chaos tenfold mechanically but does little elsewhere to warrant any sort of prolonged investment that prior entries to the series had before. While the game has a lot going for it, there feels like untapped potential has been left on the table.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes devs on decision to make Byleth an antagonist
Posted on 2 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Those that are now playing Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes or have been keeping up with promotional material for the game are sure to know that Byleth is a villain in the game. This is in contrast to Fire Emblem: Three Houses where the character was the protagonist.
In an interview with IGN, director Hayato Iwata commented on the decision. He had this to say about the change for Byleth in Three Hopes:
