Splatoon 2 has been out for just over a week. Nintendo published the game last Friday, and many Switch owners likely purchased the game. One thing is for sure: it’s selling like hot cakes in Japan.

How many of you have picked up Splatoon 2 thus far? If you did, have you had a chance to play it? What do you think of it so far? How do you feel about the new single-player campaign, Salmon Run, and everything else the game has to offer? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Miiverse memories

Dragon Quest XI is officially coming west. Square Enix has just announced the overseas release under the name “Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age”.

Series creator Yuji Horii shared the news in a new video:

Dragon Quest XI will launch in the west in 2018. More details will be shared sometime this fall.

We’ve included today’s full announcement below.

Capcom

Capcom reported its latest financial results earlier today. In its overall outline, the company noted that Ultra Street Fighter II – the company’s first Switch game – is a “smash hit” and “made an excellent start”. At least for the time being, Capcom appears to be pleased the performance of Ultra Street Fighter II. The game shipped 450,000 copies in Q1, which was above expectations.

Perhaps due to Ultra Street Fighter II’s sales, Capcom looks to be putting in more resources towards Switch. The publisher is now “starting to prepare” multiple Switch-version titles, as relayed by Takashi Mochizuki from The Wall Street Journal.

Capcom is next bringing Monster Hunter XX to Switch in Japan on August 25. It’s unclear what plans Capcom has beyond this.

Thanks to Rising Star Games, we have our first look at Superbeat: Xonic on Switch with a first trailer. Have a look at it below.

Last week, we came across a Switch classification for The Sexy Brutale from PEGI. The official announcement about a Switch release has now come in from Japan of all places.

Below is a general overview:

System: 3DS
Release date: July 28, 2017
Developer:: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

Miis have seen a long history of games and appearances ranging from party titles like Wii Play and Wii Sports to spinoff Mario titles such as Mario Kart and Mario Tennis. Now from a fancy island resort in 2013’s quirky Tomodachi Life to the fantasy wonderlands of an RPG, Miitopia sees Nintendo’s Mii avatars come front and center once again on the 3DS. Miitopia builds ground and gives Miis a more robust experience compared to the simulator nature of Tomodachi Life, but it falls short in many areas to really make this a game worth owning, even if it is just as fun and absurd as one would expect from a Mii driven title – for better or for worse.

Nintendo just wrapped up a new “Feh Challen” broadcast for Fire Emblem Heroes. The latest information about the mobile game was delivered, including details on version 1.6, a six-month anniversary celebration, and more.

Here’s the broadcast in case you missed it:

And a summary of what was shared:

A sequel to Persona Q could very well be on the way. Discovered today, the domain name pq2.jp is now on the nameservers Atlus uses for their websites. When you visit the URL, it redirects to the Persona Channel website.

A concert for the Persona franchise will be taking place on August 2. It’s thought that Atlus could announce new projects at around that time, which could include Persona Q.

Assuming Persona Q 2 is real, we’re unsure of platforms at this time. The original did come to 3DS though, so it would make sense to have the sequel there as well. A Switch version would also certainly be nice.
