Nintendo president Satoru Iwata touched on the company’s new gaming system, NX, during an interview with Japanese publication Nikkei. He suggested that the company’s plan is to surprise gamers, as simply expanding upon existing hardware makes things “dull.”

Iwata’s full words:

“However, if you only expand upon existing hardware, it’s dull. In some shape or form, we’re always thinking about how we want to surprise players as well as our desire to change each person’s video gaming life.”

That’s all that was shared about NX. We’ll have to wait until next year for any concrete details!

A couple of more tweets hit the Xenoblade Chronicles X Twitter account today. In today’s messages, director Koh Kojima talks about the BLADE home area.

Kojima realizes that the team hasn’t talked much about this aspect of Xenoblade Chronicles X thus far. He says that BLADE will act as the player’s home base both online and offline, and is a location the player will be visiting very frequently in the game. Monolith Soft has prepared various customization options such as the ones they mentioned in previous tweets.

We have two more assets from the Japanese Splatoon Twitter account. Check out the latest image above, and another brief clip below.

As for today’s tweet translations, you can check that out below:

This weapon is the ‘Splacharger’.
By compressing ink in the weapon’s tank, it is capable of long-range shots and to hit your opponents with powerful blows.
It takes time to charge these strong shots, so you will need to learn to use your sub-weapon effectively.

Our researchers have obtained video of the Splacharger in action.
Please take a look.
To master this weapon, it seems as though you will need to develop an intuition for how long the charge takes.
