Skypeace

At least in Japan, Skypeace is out now on the Switch eShop having previously debuted on 3DS. Get a look at some footage below.

Yoku's Island Express boxart

Team17 announced that the physical version of Yoku’s Island Express is releasing on May 29. As it turns out, that only applies to the digital eShop version.

If you plan on purchasing the title physically, you’ll be able to do so starting on June 19 in North America. The European release is taking place slightly earlier on June 15.

Splatoon 2 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Nintendo has announced special plans for the next Splatfest. In partnership with Nickelodeon, the company will be holding the first-ever tournament-style Splatfest featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In both North America and Europe, three different rounds will be held. It’ll be Raph vs. Leo first, followed by Mikey vs. Donnie. The winners of both will go head-to-head in the final round during the weekend of May 18.

Icey - Nintendo Switch

Last October, it was announced that Icey would be released on Switch. We now have confirmation that it will launch sometime in May. A specific date has not yet been provided.

To celebrate today’s news, X.D. Network has a new Switch trailer ready for Icey. We have that below, along with additional details about the game. 

Nintendo announced a smattering of executive changes today. The big one is Tatsumi Kimishima is stepping down as president, to be replaced by Shuntaro Furukawa. Satoru Shibata will also leave the role of Nintendo of Europe’s president in favor of becoming a director.

Elsewhere, Shinya Takahashi is becoming a Managing Executive Officer. He had previously held the role of General Manager of Entertainment Planning & Development Division.

Yoshiaki Koizumi is a Deputy General Manager of Entertainment Planning & Development Division. However, he will be shifting to an Executive Officer role on the board of directors.

Fire Emblem Heroes players can now partake in Tap Battle: Illusory Dungeon – Formidable Foes. The event will be hosted until May 12.

Illusory Dungeon is a simple battle game in which you defeat enemies by timing your taps on screen. Heroes who have not yet been leveled up can be used here.

While the event is active, there will be new daily quests where you can earn different rewards. Also, beginning on April 19, you’ll find two types of Tap Battle quests.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Zelda: Breath of the Wild has reached a major milestone. Based on the latest information provided within Nintendo’s financial results, disregarding re-releases and remakes, it’s now the best-selling entry ever.

On Switch, Nintendo confirms that Breath of the Wild has sold 8.48 million copies. Another 1.5 million units have been sold on Wii U. Essentially, it is at nearly 10 million copies sold.

Zelda: Twilight Princess was the previous record holder for the series. It had sold 8.85 million copies worldwide.

The news about Tatsumi Kimishima retiring from Nintendo as president isn’t the only big role change announced for the company today. Satoru Shibata, who has been the president of Nintendo of Europe, is also relocating from his role.

Nintendo confirms that Shibata is becoming a director. In a sense, this is an upgrade, as he’ll have a greater executive officer role as part of the board of directors.

It is not immediately clear who will be taking over for Shibata’s previously role.

Today, Nintendo announced its full 2017 fiscal year earnings results. We’ll be rounding up all of the important pieces of information below.

As part of its latest financial results, Nintendo has updated its listings of million sellers across various platforms, including Switch games.

Among the highlights, Kirby Star Allies is already at 1.26 million as of March 31. That’s despite the fact that the game only launched last month.
