Another new update is making its way out for Pokemon GO. On iOS, players will have access to version 1.47.1. Android users will be able to download 0.77.1.

The latest update mainly involves bug fixes. Also, costumed Pokemon can no longer be mass-transferred, and a confirmation dialogue will show up when attempting to transfer such Pokemon.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime isn’t in attendance at this year’s Nintendo World Championships, but he did record a message that appeared during the opening minutes. We have it below.

After a two-year hiatus, the Nintendo World Championships are back. Nintendo will be hosting the 2017 event today, with the proceedings beginning not too long from now. The tournament should kick off at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM in the UK / 11 PM in Europe.

You can watch the Nintendo World Championships as the event happens below. We’re not saying there will be any announcements (there may very well be nothing), but if anything happens to show up, we’ll have the news on the site.

Earlier this year, Hallmark began selling Super Mario ornaments. Mario was the first out of the gate. Another two are now available as well.

Online you can grab a Yoshi ornament for about $15. Luigi also started showing up at Hallmark this weekend, though you’ll only find him in stores.

A demo for Spelunker Party! showed up on the Switch eShop today. Have a look at some footage from the download below.

Square Enix has published a demo for Spelunker Party! on the Switch eShop. You can find it in both North America and Europe. Simply boot up the eShop, visit the “Coming Soon” section, and visit the official game page. You should then see an option to download the demo.

The Spelunker Party! demo takes up 363MB of free space. Square Enix will release the full game on October 19.

At New York Comic-Con yesterday, Akira Himekawa hosted a special panel. It was dedicated almost entirely to their work on The Legend of Zelda manga. If you’re interested in watching the full panel, you can do so below.

Axiom Verge only just came out on Switch this past Thursday, but creator Tom Happ is pleased with how the game is doing so far. On launch day, Happ wrote on Twitter that it “seems to be selling quite well”. That’s in spite of the fact that other high-quality titles debuted on the store, including Stardew Valley and Oxenfree.

Super Mario Sunshine

This month, RetroGamer sat down with Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi. The two sides didn’t really talk about Super Mario Odyssey, however. Instead, the conversation was focused on a different project from Koizumi’s past: Super Mario Sunshine.

Koizumi directed Super Mario Sunshine on the GameCube 15 years ago. Initially, the team had a very different plan in mind for the game. Rather than the strictly 3D platforming gameplay that we know of, Nintendo instead was “exploring the idea of a disaster recovery mission-style game.”
