In Japan, Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will be distributed as a physical package this summer. But what about North America and Europe?

Inti Creates provided an update on the situation through its blog, and mentioned that the company hopes to make something similar available in the west. They’re currently “working on securing a partner” to make this happen.

Inti Creates’ full comments are as follows:

Now, as for North America and Europe, we do not have any official announcements regarding a physical version of the game or a decided release date at this time. However, rest assured that as soon as we do have an announcement, we’ll make it right away.

Nintendo finally provided an official update on NX today, but it probably wasn’t what many expected. Rather than launching by the end of the year, the new system will instead debut in March 2017.

Japanese paper Nikkei spoke with Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, and asked why Nintendo won’t be launching NX in time for the holiday season. Kimishima responded by saying the company wanted to ensure that there were games to go along with the NX.

As far as what the system will offer, he wouldn’t divulge any specifics. Kimishima only said the following:

“At this current stage, I’m not able to say. However, it’s not merely the successor to the handheld 3DS or stationary console Wii U. This will be hardware that’s been made with a new way of thinking. I’d like to announce more particulars regarding its specs and how it works another time this year.”

Reuters and the BBC are both reporting that Wii U production could end by March 2018. The former outlet specifically heard that comment from Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima.

During the current fiscal year, Nintendo expects to sell just 800,000 Wii U units. That’s down from 3.26 million units in the previous year.

Nintendo has announced that Babymetal will be added to Super Mario Maker as the game’s latest costume.

Here’s a trailer for the outfit, along with the announcement straight from the Japanese metal idol band:

The Babymetal costume is scheduled to arrive in Japan on April 28. That means we should be seeing it in North America tonight along with a new Event Course.

Zelda Wii U

This is something included in Nintendo’s new press release that we just added to the site, but was worth highlighting on its own. It’s pretty noteworthy, as the company will have just one playable title at the expo in June.

Here are Nintendo’s words in full:

E3: Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future.
