Splatoon’s next Splatfest has been announced for Japan. Starting on June 18 at 9 AM and lasting for a full day, players can participate in the new competition.
The upcoming Splatfest is in partnership with Meiji. Players are asked to choose one of two sides: Kinoko no Yama (Mountain of Mushrooms) or Takenoko no Sato (Bamboo Shoot Village).
Europe’s 15th Splatfest will be taking place this weekend. Nothing has been announced for North America, but that should be changing in the near future.

The Miitomo campaign for The Legend of Zelda has already managed to reach the 20,000 re-tweets needed for users to obtain the “Link’s new hair wig” and “green Link wig” items. May 2016 NPD: Nintendo’s response – 3DS surpasses 60 million worldwide and more
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U, Wii U eShop | 36 Comments
The May 2016 NPD report was issued earlier today. Unfortunately, there were no Nintendo titles in the top 10 – be it first-party or third-party. However, that hasn’t stopped the big N from issuing a statement pointing to success in other areas.
There’s big news for 3DS, as the system “recently passed 60 million units worldwide”. Nintendo also highlighted the success of 2DS in the United States following the price drop to $80.
May was a milestone month for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Having recently passed 60 million units worldwide, the current generation’s top-selling dedicated gaming platform welcomed an entirely new audience with a lower suggested price of $79.99 for the Nintendo 2DS system. This big value has already shown big results. According to the NPD Group, which tracks U.S. video game sales, in May the system saw a 38 percent sales boost over April and a 148 percent increase year-on-year – all after just one week at the new price.

Activision’s E3 2016 lineup
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 5 Comments
Activision has made its E3 2016 lineup known ahead of the expo next week. Aside from the non-Nintendo titles Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Destiny, the company will also be highlighting Skylanders Imaginators.
For those who need a reminder, here’s what you can expect from Skylanders Imaginators:
This fall, Activision and Toys For Bob are giving kids the power to create their own Skylanders! With the launch of Skylanders Imaginators, players will be able to create the wildest Skylanders imaginable — including their appearance, powers, abilities, names, catchphrases, musical themes and much more. Now it’s up to Portal Masters everywhere to use their own Skylanders — known as Imaginators — with the new Creation Crystals to defeat Kaos.
Skylanders Imaginators also introduces Skylanders Senseis, all-new heroes who represent 10 powerful Battle Classes such as Knight, Sorcerer, Bowslinger and Brawler to help kids save Skylands. The newest game in the award-wining franchise is available now for pre-order and supports all 300+ Skylanders from previous games. Skylanders Imaginators will be available on October 16 in North America; October 14 in Europe; and October 13 in Australia/New Zealand.
E3 2016 will take place between June 14 and June 16.
