Wiimote can be used in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, but without motion controls

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash will contain a number of controller options. It will be possible to use the GamePad, Pro Controller, or Wii Remote.
When it comes to the Wii Remote, Game Informer reports that players hold the controller sideways. There are no motion controls in other words. Leaving motion controls out feels slightly strange to me, but it is what it is!

Deep Silver likely funded Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Siliconera recently asked Koji Igarashi if there are any plans to work with Deep Silver on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. For those who are unaware, Inti Creates is making Mighty No. 9 as well as Bloodstained, and Deep Silver is handling publishing for the former title.
Here’s how Igarashi responded:
While this is not official, but…it may as well be, as the [person] who is putting the most money into Bloodstained, it’s up to them when they want to announce their participation. I’m just going to say that I’m not officially saying ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ but I do want to say that the backend investment is what allowed me to make the game. I am 100% appreciative of them having faith in me. I hope everyone feels the same way, because without them, I never would have been able to get this far.
We literally went everywhere we could beforehand. First and foremost, I feel an incredible degree of appreciation [toward this publisher]. As for the actual relationship and how that’s going to work out, that’s something that will be from here on out. Any time an independent creator can get to keep their IP…
Ben Judd, who is a part of the Bloodstained team, added: “I almost felt defeated as an agent, but then we finally found a partner and we couldn’t have asked for a better one.” He also said that “it becomes a great collaborative relationship.”

Writing on Twitter, Nintendo explained that a matchmaking issue was found with the first Japanese Splatfest, which caused long wait times. The company wants to resolve it before going live with the North American Splatfest.
A new date for the North American Splatfest hasn’t been revealed. However, information is promised “soon.”

Shigeru Miyamoto/Brian Henson interview coming soon
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 2 Comments
It’s been well publicized this week that Nintendo teamed up with The Jim Henson Company for this year’s Digital Event. They were behind the Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata, and Reggie Fils-Aime puppets in the show.
Although we’re starting to turn the page on E3, there’s at least one more goodie that Nintendo will be sharing soon. Miyamoto met with Brian Henson, and the two discussed the creation and design of the puppets.
Nintendo wrote on its Facebook page today:
When visiting Henson Studios during E3, Mr. Miyamoto met with Brian Henson to discuss creating and designing the Nintendo puppets. Stay tuned for the interview coming soon!
