In a Switch commercial released this week, Aaron Waddingham was one of the boy actors featured. Aaron, who has Down syndrome, has been taking acting classes and auditioning for parts this year. Amazingly enough, Nintendo’s commercial was his first acting job.

Aaron’s mother Sue told Global News that “Nintendo very specifically wanted somebody with a visible disability.” She said:

NBA Jam - Bart Simpson

Two surprising characters almost made it into NBA Jam. Godzilla and Bart Simpson were both considered, but didn’t end up in the final product. They would have been secret characters.

The new book for NBA Jam revealed the surprising development on Twitter. A video was posted showing Godzilla and Bart Simpson filed against a blue screen, likely to be used later on during the game’s creation.

The buildup to Super Nintendo World continues. Construction has been in full swing leading up to the opening in time for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, and some new art has now apparently surfaced.

Xtrend Nikkei first posted the image online as part of a general article about Super Nintendo World. The piece has not been confirmed as official, though it matches previously-leaked photographs of the park’s model.

A number of new elements are shown in the supposed piece of art. These include the actual ride vehicles for Yoshi’s Adventure, augmented reality binoculars, and more. Orlando ParkStop was kind enough to label all of the important aspects, which you can see above.

After significant fan backlash, Paramount decided to delay the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie. The extra time allowed the team to rework Sonic so that he looks closer to his gaming outings. Based on today’s reaction, the new look has gone over well.

We can thank Tyson Hesse of Sonic Mania fame for the redesign. On Twitter, Hesse says he was brought in to lead the design on the new version of the Sonic movie.

Earlier this year, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was delayed out of 2019. With the extra time, Sonic himself would be getting a makeover to keep him more in like with fans’ expectations.

Ahead of the new February 14, 2020 premiere date, a brand new trailer has now arrived – complete with the first official look at Sonic’s redesign. Watch the video below.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield launch on Switch in just a few days. Of course, it will be accompanied by a new anime series – debuting first in Japan – featuring adventures in the Galar region. You can find some new footage shown today as part of an overall anime special below.
