Usually around the holidays, enticing video game deals begin to appear. It makes sense then that Target will be holding a special offer beginning at the very end of this month.

During the week of October 30, all games will be included in a buy 2, get 1 free sale. This should include all Wii U and 3DS games. Additionally, based on a picture from the ad, amiibo will be a part of the deal as well.

The sale will last through November 5.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta imagine themselves as Mushroom Kingdom citizens and talk about some topics that those who live there would find important. View it in full video.

Choice Provisions is continuing to write up regular blog posts about Runner3. In the latest one, the studio provided fans with a first look at the project.

It should be noted that this is “a screenshot in engine”. It lacks post-rendering effects, and the background features placeholder art. In other words, it’s far from final. It does however show what has been talked about before – specifically how the path splits “up and down and a curving path going off down another route.”

Zelda II – The Adventure of Link is one of the games included on the Famicom Mini (and NES Classic Edition). With that in mind, Nintendo published an interview on its Japanese website with Tadashi Sugiyama, the game’s director.

Sugiyama talked about how development began, where the title came from, the difficulty, and more. Head past the break for all of Sugiyama’s comments.

European retailers opened pre-orders for the NES Classic Edition (or NES Mini) quite a long time ago. The situation is much different in North America though, as reservations have pretty much been unavailable since the announcement. It was up on Toys “R” Us and Target for an extremely brief period, but that’s all. The likes of Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop have all kept pre-orders closed.

Unfortunately, at least at GameStop, the situation won’t be changing before launch. The retailer confirmed on Twitter that it will not offer any pre-orders. Consumers will instead need to visit a local store on November 11.

The tweet is as follows:

The NES Classic Edition hits store shelves in less than a month, so other retailers will likely follow in GameStop’s footsteps. We’ll let you know if we hear otherwise.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like for a Pokemon to be inside of a Pokeball? Kotaku asked this burning question to Junichi Masuda of Game Freak, who is a long-time developer on the series.

On that topic, Masuda had this to say:

“I think it’s safe to say that it’s very comfortable inside inside of a Pokeball, it’s a very comfortable environment. Maybe the equivalent of a high-end suite room in a fancy hotel.”

This is certainly good to hear. Pokemon deserve the utmost comfort!
