Four retailer-exclusive amiibo have already been confirmed for North America. Shulk will only be available at GameStop, Best Buy is the exclusive store for Meta Knight, Lucario is at Toys “R” Us, and Target has Rosalina and Luma.

This might not be the end of retailer-exclusive amiibo, sadly. Check out this message from one Best Buy Canada representative:

Having anything be retailer-exclusive isn’t what anyone wants to see. I guess we’ll see how this plays out!

Nintendo recently published a page on its Japanese website (“A sincere request to guardians from Nintendo”) addressing parental locks on some of the 3DS and Wii U’s features. Internet browsing, online purchases, and communication with other players are specifically addressed.

Nintendo notes in the section about online payments that some children have used their parents’ credit cards to purchase games on the eShop without their consent. Most of the issues arise when 3DS owners choose to save credit card information to their system. The 3DS does have a parental lock, though there are still many people out there who aren’t aware of this feature.

Nintendo’s site also has a joint message with Sony and Microsoft about the existence of parental controls in each of the companies’ consoles.

Another physical reward has landed on the European Club Nintendo website. For 3,500 stars, members can pick up the Mario Golf Balls.

The reward features Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi golf balls. The box measures approximately 9.5cm x 9.5cm x 4.5cm, and the ball materials are rubber and synthetic resin.

Pokemon games block players from naming their creatures anything offensive under most circumstances. But unfortunately, hackers have circumvented these restrictions and are now flooding the Pokemon Global Trade Station with profanely-named Pokemon.

Fans are trying to improve the situation by doing things like grabbing the poorly-named Pokemon from the GTS, renaming them, and redistributing them online – which requires its own hacking methods ironically enough. Hopefully official action will be taken in the near future.

Konami producer Tak Fujii has left Konami. In terms of his work on Nintendo titles, he most recently helped develop Frogger 3D.

Fujii announced his departure on Twitter, writing:

Fujii may best be remembered for his presentation at Konami’s E3 2010 conference. You can catch that below if you never saw it. It’s definitely worth a watch!

Nintendo published a listing of the most popular searches on Miiverse for this year, as of November 2014. Pokemon topped the list, followed by Mario and Animal Crossing.

You’ll find the full top ten above. Keep in mind that these are based on worldwide searches – not just North America.
