Evo 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus, online event now planned

Evo 2020, the biggest gaming tournament of the year, has been cancelled due to coronavirus. Organizers said in a statement today that tickets will be refunded.
While Evo won’t be happening in its traditional form, plans are in place for an online event. Additional details will follow “soon.”

Huntdown launches for Switch on May 12, new trailer

Huntdown was first announced for Switch back in 2017. Three years later, the action-platformer now has a release date.
Huntdown will be available for Switch on May 12. Publisher Coffee Stain and developer Easy Trigger Games will be distributing the title as an eShop download.

Little Inferno getting a physical release

Super Rare Games has announced a partnership with Tomorrow Corporation to produce a physical version of Little Inferno. Pre-orders open on May 7.
Standard copies will be sold for £29.99. A steelbook version will also be available for £44.99. Copies include a 20-page full color manual, interior artwork, exclusive sticker, as well as three trading cards randomly selected from the five-card set.

Geoff Keighley announces Summer Game Fest

The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley has announced Summer Game Fest, a digital “industry-wide celebration of video games”. Fans can expect “breaking news, in-game events, and free playable content” from various publishers and developers. The Verge reports that “Keighley will act as both curator and host for pre- and post-shows” for several companies, including Bethesda, Square Enix, and more.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons becomes Japan’s best-selling retail game on Switch

Since coming out in late March, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been lighting up the sales charts. Japan is one area where the game has been selling incredibly well and it has now reached a new milestone.
Last week, Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold another 284,000 copies in Japan. Total retail sales in the country now sit at 3.85 million units. That means it has surpassed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Switch’s best-selling title, which has sold a total of 3.66 million copies.
