My Nintendo adds new rewards in North America

A number of new rewards are now available on My Nintendo in North America. Several coupons are up for grabs, along with a Mario-themed wallpaper and April calendar. Super Mario Bros. 3 and Pilotwings Resort are among the discounts.

Valve boss Gabe Newell has plenty of praise for Pokemon

Pokemon has been an incredibly successful franchise since the beginning. Even after 20 years, the franchise is still going strong.
During a recent media event, Valve boss Gabe Newell actually spoke about Pokemon while discussing the company’s future plans. Here’s what Newell said about the IP’s longstanding success:

Splatoon 2 – Piranha Pit and Sorella Brella footage

Splatoon 2 – European Splatfest #9 announced

It turns out not one, but two Splatfests will be held in Splatoon 2 next weekend. In addition to the North American competition, a separate event is planned for Europe.
What do you prefer: eating popcorn as salty or sweet? If you’re in Europe, you can make your voice heard by competing in the Splatfest. It’ll be held for a full day starting on April 7 at 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.

Splatoon 2 – North American Splatfest #9 announced

A new North American Splatfest will be held in Splatoon 2 next week. This one is all about sports, putting baseball up against soccer.
The Splatfest begins on April 6 at 9 PM PT / April 7 at 12 AM ET. Expect the event to last for a full day, with the results coming soon after.

Dragon Quest Illustrations 30th Anniversary Edition coming west later this year

Dragon Quest Illustrations 30th Anniversary Edition previously released in Japan. At Anime Boston today, VIZ Media announced that the book is seeing localization. It’s due out in the west in December.
Dragon Quest Illustrations 30th Anniversary Edition is an archive of Akira Toriyama’s iconic illustrations and designs. Over 30 years of Dragon Quest titles, released from 1986 through 2016, are covered inside.

Sumer hitting the Switch eShop next week

A few months ago, Studio Wumpus announced that Sumer was being worked on for Switch. The title now has a listing on the North American eShop, indicating that it’s launching next week.
Sumer is digital board game that blends action and strategy. You’ll play as Sumerian nobles, who are vying for the affection of the great goddess Inanna. Up to four people can play together.
Sumer arrives on April 5 for $14.99. We have additional information and an older trailer below.
