Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have been setting all sorts of records, including in France. The two games saw the best launch week ever for a Nintendo-published game in the country. Over 425,000 copies were sold.

Pokemon Sun/Moon outperformed both X/Y and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Pokemon X/Y sold 125,000 copies in its first week while the 3DS remakes moved 180,000 units during the same period.

The latest episode of Pokemon Generations is now live on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. We’ve gone ahead and attached it below.

Pokemon Generations revisits each generation of the Pokemon games and sheds new light on some timeless moments. New episodes will be available weekly through December 23.

Last night, Yacht Club Games finally showed a trailer for Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment at The Game Awards. The studio shared a bit more on the expansion in a blog post shortly afterwards.

Perhaps what’s most interesting here is that the team is making Specter of Torment “from the ground up so that it can be a completely unique standalone experience.” It’s a prequel, featuring “new areas, new music, new enemies, new objects, new boss fights, new weapons, new armors, and way, way more than ever before.” It really does sound like its own thing in many ways.

Here’s the full update from Yacht Club:

The latest episode of Game Center DX, the Game Center CX spin-off show, has been released, and it focuses on Pokemon Sun & Moon. Check it out:

While Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS didn’t get quite as much praise as the Wii U version, it was still received well enough for Nintendo to put together an accolades trailer. Give it a watch:

Media Create reported that Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon sold 375,665 copies in Japan between November 21 and November 28. We now have additional information from the sales tracker, revealing that the split was 197,000 for Sun and 179,000 for Moon.

That means each version is reduced to about a fourth of their first week sales. Pokemon X (second week of 240,000 copies) and Pokemon Y (233,000 copies) also saw about the same reduction rate. By counting the two games from the Double Pack, Sun and Moon’s total sales as of the second week are 2,281,000 copies, which goes down slightly if compared to X/Y’s two-week total of 2,340,000 units.

Yesterday we noted that Super Mario Maker for 3DS’s first update, version 1.01, was on the eShop. Strangely, Nintendo already has another update available. Version 1.02 has now replaced the previous patch on the eShop.

The size is exactly the same at 158 blocks (19.75 MB). Also, once again, the update is needed in order to access the Course World and its online features.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Nintendo brought out a major Miitomo update last month, but another one is on the way. It will encompass the following:

– You will be able to teach Sidekick Mii charaters how to answer questions
– “Sidekick Central,” a place where you can share your Sidekick Mii characters’ answers with other users, will be added
– Emoji in your Mii characters’ answers will trigger sound effects
– Various performance improvements

Nintendo asks users to “wait just a little longer for this update”.

In other news, Miitomo has been updated with new content. Players can nab the latest items in the Miitomo Drop stage, “‘Tis the season! Happy Holidays #1”.
