A new Minecraft: Wii U Edition update is out now, though it’s not terribly important. The developers have addressed three small issues within the game.
The full patch notes are as follows:
– Fix for Mob Spawners not spawning anymore, and showing a Pig inside them.
– Fix for previously created signs being censored for players with restrictive Privacy settings.
– Fix for being able to escape the boundaries of the world by exiting a Boat at the edge.
Rumor: Fire Emblem Fates may be getting a Switch version
Posted on 7 years ago by Jake in Rumors, Switch | 32 Comments
Update: This may unfortunately just be an error on Nintendo’s website. As one example, the Ultra Street Fighter II page has “Pokemon Moon with Lunala Figure for Nintendo Switch”, which linked to a 3DS pic.
Original: Nintendo is holding a Fire Emblem based Nintendo Direct this week, but one bit of news from it might have dropped early. NeoGAF user Mr. Pointy found evidence that a version of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation may be making its way to the Switch. Searching through the source code for the Fire Emblem Warriors page from Nintendo’s website reveals a hidden image/link for “Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation for nintendo switch”. There is no listing for either Birthright or Conquest, but that doesn’t rule them out. Hopefully this shows up in this week’s Direct!
Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s backstory revealed

At the beginning of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link awakens following a 100-year slumber. Clearly something big happened beforehand that led to him being in that state.
Now we have a decent idea about that backstory surrounding Breath of the Wild. During last week’s Treehouse Live stream, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime showed off a map from the game’s limited editions, the back of which contains cryptic tapestry with Hylian/Sheikah language. What’s stated there has been revealed after fans went through a lengthy decoding process.
Since this may fall into spoiler territory for some, we’ve posted the transcript after the break.

Super Mario Odyssey received a stage show at the Nintendo Switch Experience this past weekend. Aside from the brief bit of footage highlighting Mario’s moves, a few tidbits about the game were also shared.
Development on Super Mario Odyssey is considerably finished, so producer Yoshiaki Koizumi wants people to get their hands on it. But since the release isn’t close, Nintendo didn’t offer Mario as playable demo.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will have online play, unsurprisingly
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 7 Comments
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will allow players to battle against each other online. Capcom shared the news during the Treehouse Live event a couple of days ago, which seemed to have gone mostly unnoticed. Online play is something that most would expect, but it wasn’t actually mentioned in the original announcement. It’s nice to have the confirmation in any case!
Thanks to Mike for the tip.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Wii U retail version comes with a 3 GB install
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 76 Comments
Last week, Nintendo shared the file sizes for Zelda: Breath of the Wild on both Switch and Wii U. Both are pretty similar. On Switch, Zelda is a 13.4 GB download while the Wii U version is 13 GB.
The page now includes an additional note specifically about the game on Wii U. For those who plan on playing the physical version, some game data will need to be installed. More than 3 GB of space is needed in the console’s storage or USB storage device. It seems that USB memory devices (memory stick) can’t be used.
Thanks to Ben for the tip.

CEO of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford says that he doesn’t see a Switch version of Borderlands 3 happening, according to a recent tweet.
Gearbox is behind the Borderland series of games, known for it’s focus on co-op gameplay. While Pitchford did mention that Gearbox was in talks with Nintendo previously, it appears that said talks have fallen through. You can find the full tweet below.
@dECU_nutt I do not see that as happening. We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.

New translation of Suda51’s Switch presentation now available

If you watched the Nintendo Switch event live, you likely had trouble understanding what Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda, or more commonly known as Suda51, was talking about despite the best efforts of the translator. While what Suda51 said was likely very difficult to translate live, YouTuber iYakku has gone to the trouble of translating what Suda51 had to say about his Switch project and Travis Touchdown.
