Nintendo announced today a new partnership with SCRAP on Defenders of the Triforce. Beginning at the very end of January, fans of the Zelda series can work together in teams of six to solve a mystery in a huge area and within a set time limit.

Defenders of the Triforce “will let guests interact with classic items and characters seen in The Legend of Zelda series like the Goron, Zora and Kokiri tribes.” Similar to Zelda titles, items can be used to solve puzzles and progress into other areas.

Once the main puzzle experience is finished, those who attend Defenders of the Triforce can then receive access to photo opportunities as well as a promotional lounge. Here, exclusive Zelda merchandise can be purchased.

Head past the break for today’s full announcement and lineup of cities.

Lets Play Video Games isn’t the only outlet coming forward with alleged information about Switch’s software lineup. Emily Rogers now has a brief report up about what to expect from the Mario Kart title shown in the system’s debut video.

According to Rogers, Mario Kart Switch will include all content from the Wii U game – meaning tracks and characters – along with the DLC. Additionally, Nintendo is packing in “new tracks, new playable characters, and a new-and-improved battle mode.” The company listened to criticism about Mario Kart 8’s battle mode.

Rogers also mentions that Mario Kart’s development on Switch is finished. It will arrive within the first three months of the console’s launch.

Laura Kate Dale has been publishing regular updates about Switch. Today, she’s come out with an extensive, unconfirmed post about the system’s software lineup.

As we’ve heard throughout the week, Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be available in time for Switch’s launch. Even though we apparently won’t be seeing it until a few months after the system launches, Nintendo still intends to release the game on Wii U.

Those in Japan can now pre-load Super Mario Maker for 3DS from the eShop. To do so, at least 2,909 blocks (363.625 MB) of free space is required on an SD card. The size may vary slightly in other regions, but probably by very little if at all.

At the moment, Super Mario Maker for 3DS isn’t up for pre-load in North America. We’ll let you know when that changes, and it should be soon.

We’ve attached the latest Super Mario Maker for 3DS screenshots below.

The Edge Joystick is one of two new peripherals Emio created for the NES Classic Edition. Unfortunately, reports are coming in that the accessory isn’t working with Nintendo’s device. It’s compatible with the Wii and Wii U, but in terms of the NES Classic Edition, buyers are out of luck. Best Buy is apparently recalling The Edge Joystick, asking consumers to return it.

Emio does at least seem to be aware of the situation, and is hoping to rectify things. The incompatibility is due to a missing adapter not included in the box. If you’re one of these people affected, Emio is advising consumers on Facebook to send an email to [email protected].
