RCMADIAX’s latest Wii U eShop title, Avoider, is hitting the Wii U eShop in January. The game requires 58MB of free space to download. It won’t require much space if you plan on downloading it!

Since National StreetPass Weekend is taking place once again, Nintendo is promoting the event with a small gift. 3DS owners who have SpotPass enabled will find that Kyle has stopped by StreetPass Mii Plaza again. He comes wearing gold pants!

Update: No real surprise here, but Freedom Planet 2 is officially confirmed for at least one Nintendo platform.

GalaxyTrail has announced Freedom Planet 2, a follow-up to the Wii U eShop game released in October. We’ve included a brief trailer and teaser below.

“Join the heroes of Avalice as they face their greatest challenge yet! An ancient terror has emerged from the depths of the ocean. Merga, a water dragon from Avalice’s oldest and deadliest war, has been freed from her crystal prison as a consequence of the Kingdom Stone’s destruction. War is imminent once again, but this time, the heroes are split between sides. As friendships are tested, will the girls stand united when Bakunawa rises?”

There’s quite a bit that’s new/changed in Freedom Planet 2. GalaxyTrail is updating the game’s style, and will introduce features such as a flexible difficulty, guarding, and revivals. Details about each of these can be found after the break.

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to take a brief moment to wish everyone a happy holiday. Be it Christmas, New Year’s… whatever you celebrate or are looking forward to in the near future, enjoy the times ahead!

I’ll be around on the site per usual to take care of any news that pops up. Things have been a bit quieter these past few weeks outside of the Nintendo Direct and Smash Bros. presentation, and I expect that to continue due to the holidays. It’ll be business as usual for me though, aside from possibly getting a little more rest and hopefully overcoming a very bad cold/virus/whatever I’ve had for well over a week.

Thank you all for the support in 2015, and I look forward to sharing more Nintendo news with you all next year. Some exciting things await us in 2016!

Super Mario Maker will once be seeing maintenance next week – Monday for North America, Tuesday for those in Europe. It won’t be too long, however, as Nintendo has scheduled roughly 100 minutes of downtime for the game’s online services.

Here’s when the maintenance will be taking place:

– 5:50 PM PT (Monday) – 7:30 PM PT (Monday)
– 8:50 PM ET (Monday) – 10:30 PM ET (Monday)
– 1:50 AM in the UK (Tuesday) – 3:30 AM in the UK (Tuesday)
– 2:50 AM in Europe (Tuesday) – 4:30 AM in Europe (Tuesday)

Nintendo updated its investor site with a new message from company president Tatsumi Kimishima. This is actually the first letter from Kimishima aside from the one included in a previous business report.

In his note, Kimishima mainly touches on further making use of Nintendo IP. He (briefly) brings up NX, smart devices, and more. Read the full message below.

We know that Mega Man Legacy Collection’s 3DS version will have content not included in the previously-released versions in the form of extra challenges. That isn’t all, however. It seems that the 3DS edition also has artwork not featured on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, such as U.S. Mega Man boxes.
