Story of Seasons ended up being XSEED’s fastest-selling game. In an interview with Nintendo World Report, the publisher’s Tom Lipschultz commented on why he believes it sold so well despite no longer carrying the Harvest Moon name.

He said:

“Because Bokujo Monogatari fans know that STORY OF SEASONS is the new name for the series they’ve grown up with, and they’re very dedicated to that series. It could’ve been called anything in English (my suggestion was “Cornutopia,” though that got vetoed pretty quickly!), and fans would still know right off the bat that regardless of what it says on the cover, the game they’re playing is Bokujo Monogatari. With all the good will this series has built up over the years, and the consistent level of quality seen in the games that bear its name, it only stands to reason it would sell well. After all, when you buy a Bokujo Monogatari title, you know exactly what you’re getting, and you know before your system even powers on whether or not you’re going to like it.”

XSEED announced last July that Story of Seasons had sold 100,000 copies. It beat out Rune Factory 4 as the previous record holder as the company’s fastest-selling game.

Disney Interactive won’t be bringing out the next iteration of Disney Infinity. The company is instead opting to provide further support to last year’s release, Disney Infinity 3.0.

New Play Sets and characters will launch throughout 2016, which are tied into the debuts of big Disney events/theatrical releases from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars. Judy and Nick figures from Zootopia are out today, followed by the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set and Baloo figure from The Jungle Book on March 15.

As for Marvel Battlegrounds, Ant-Man, Black Panther, and Vision have been announced as the latest characters. A new Power Disc Pack will be sold separately and contains:

· Cosmic Cube Blast – Unleash a powerful energy blast on nearby foes
· Darkhawk’s Blast – Blast obstacles with a powerful energy beam
· Nova Corps Strike – Call upon the Nova Corps to unleash a tactical strike from above
· Ghost Rider’s Motorcycle – Take a ride on the wild side with Ghost Rider’s flaming motorcycle

Here’s the new Play Set launch trailer:

An official update on Disney Infinity 3.0 was provided during a “Disney Infinity Next” broadcast today. You can watch the full presentation below.

– New character creation system
– Character creation is race-based

– Class and race-specific skills
– Similar to how Common skills were handled in Etrian Odyssey III, skills that are universal for your character’s race are accessed via a separate tab in the Custom menu
– Customize the icon sets that appear on your map menu
– Party members can use team up to use Union Skills
– At least four portrait options per class
– There’s a mute option that spans two buttons
– There isn’t a single race skill; it’s an entire set of racial passives, some tiered, and most of which are single-level skills
– Fencer skill set also seems based around elemental chain and prediction/vision skills
– Summoning also doesn’t seem to use the sixth party slot, as one screen shows two aids in their own separate sections
– Both have HP bars, though no TP
– Aslan skill set includes fishing, analyze, double attack, magic heal, something about full power, and something about earth (ground)

Perhaps most interestingly, for the first time ever you will not only be able to decide which gender and class your characters are, but also which race they belong to. The game is set in the world of Arcadia, where there are four dominant races: the Arslan (basically humans), the elf-like Lunaria, the Cerian who have beast/animal-like ears and finally the dwarf-like Brani.

As far as classes go, 10 have been confirmed so far – however, it seems like which class a character can be is determined by the above-mentioned races.

  • Fencer (Arslan)
  • Dragoon (Arslan)
  • Cestus (Arslan)
  • Reaper (Arslan)
  • Necromancer (Lunaria)
  • Warlock (Lunaria)
  • Warrior (Cerian)
  • Hound (Cerian)
  • Herbalist (Brani)
  • Shaman (Brani)

Other than that, the game will offer a great amount of freedom in terms of character customization – you change the color of a character’s hair, skin and eyes. Finally, you can choose a character’s voice as well (or choose to not use voices at all) – there’s a fairly extensive list of voice actors to choose from, including big names such as Akira Ishida and Yui Horie. . It seems unlikely that these would be included in an eventual international release, but you never know.

Nintendo just sent out a tweet to announce that Tomodachi Life has sold an impressive 2 million times in Europe ever since it launched in June 2014. This is quite an impressive number for a game that isn’t attached to a popular franchise, and it’s not a huge surprise that Nintendo’s first upcoming mobile game, Miitomo, seems to be heavily inspired by Tomodachi Life.
