Rumor: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze comes with 3 secret levels per world, plus more animal buddies
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 2 Comments
We’re hearing – as reported in this month’s ONM – that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will offer three secret levels per world. In total, the game would end up featuring 60 levels if true.
ONM also apparently contains a quote from Retro president Michael Kelbaugh who told the magazine, “As for Tropical Freeze, there are a few more things I feel we could have done with the animal buddies”. Some are speculating that Kelbaugh could be hinting at more animal buddies included in the Wii U title.

Silicon Knights loses its appeal to Epic Games and must pay the ~$9 million fine
Posted on 11 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Gaming, General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
After a years-long legal battle, it appears that Eternal Darkness and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes developer Silicon Knights is going to end up paying a $9.1 million fine to Epic Games for allegedly using an unlicensed copy of Unreal Engine, breaching contractual obligations, and racking up court fees.
Silicon Knights hasn’t been up to much lately and the studio is a shell of its former self. Dennis Dyack– former leader of the developers there– has said that there’s only one or two people still officially working there, and after losing this legal battle it appears unlikely that they’ll continue. A sad way for the developer to go out.

Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest coming soon to the North America 3DS Virtual Console?
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 4 Comments
Nintendo recently added in a trailer for Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest on the North American 3DS eShop. Might that suggest that a Virtual Console release is planned for the near future?
Europe will actually be getting Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest on the 3DS VC later this week. It wouldn’t be too surprising if the game will also be made available in the US on Thursday.

Nintendo apologizes for Nintendo TVii delay in Europe
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 10 Comments
Believe it or not, Europe has still yet to receive Nintendo TVii. While North America has had access to the app for over a year, the same can’t be said for Europe.
Nintendo did recently update its official Nintendo TVii UK page with an apology. Additionally, the company said that European Wii U should should “continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.”
The note in full:
We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned.
Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.
