Nintendo has shared some preliminary information about the latest NPD report. During the month of April, Switch hardware and one game in particular stood out.

Switch was the best-selling piece of gaming hardware in the U.S. last month at over 280,000 units. It’s the second month in a row that Switch has come out on top in gaming hardware sales. In Nintendo’s announcement today, the company said that “April sales of Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems (more than 68,000 units sold) combined to make up almost half of all hardware sales across all dedicated video game systems.”

As an avid Fire Emblem fan, I have a lot of respect for how far the series has come, especially considering that Awakening was supposed to be the final entry. It’s clear that the new direction for these games clicked very well with western players, breathing new life into a tired chain of tactical RPGs. If essentially “waifu-ing” Fire Emblem up and making the games overall easier to play meant I could still get my Fire Emblem fix every other year, then so be it. However, with Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentina, the developers decided to draw the series back to its roots by remaking the Japan-exclusive Famicom game Fire Emblem Gaiden.

A few new 3DS themes are out now in Japan. Here’s the lineup:

Brave Dungeon (x2) – 100 yen each
The Owl – 200 yen
Shake Me x Stan Gun: Gekko Myujikku – 200 yen
FuwariP feat.Gumi: Kyou mo Harebare 200 yen
TOKOTOKO: Kimiiro ni Somaru – 200 yen
Wonderful Opportunity!: Shin de Shimau to wa Nasakenai! 200 yen
n-buna×Orangestar: Star Night Snow – 200 yen

And below are videos for several of the themes:

Pokemon Sun/Moon

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have received a new update. Version 1.2 is out now, and is required to play online.

The new patch addresses these issues:

• Pokémon being unable to attack and switch when Sky Drop is used and when knocked out by damage done by Spiky Shield.
• A glitch in Poké Pelago when entering a new month.
• A rare case where the game ends after using an Evolution item as the last item in your Bag.
• Scatterbug sometimes not learning Egg Moves.
• Eggs sometimes being able to be given items.
• A glitch ending the tournament when pre-registered for an online Friendly Competition (e.g. entry gets canceled or the Battle Teams get unlocked).

Note: after version 1.2 has been installed, any Battle Videos saved prior to the update cannot be played or shared.
