This week’s Switch eShop charts are as follows:

Nintendo made it clear early on that its E3 Nintendo Direct would only feature Switch titles. However, there was always the possibility that some 3DS games could be shown off during the Treehouse Live stream or featured at its booth. In the end, the entire show was about Switch – 3DS was nowhere to be seen at all.

Doug Bowser, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America, spoke about the decision to have the focus on Switch titles – and not 3DS – in an interview with Club Nintendo. He explained:

Shuntaro Furukawa was named Nintendo’s newest president this week. Following the company’s 78th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Kyoto Shimbun caught up with the executive to discuss a number of topics.

First, Furukawa commented on the Nintendo’s objectives. He stated, “In order to make smartphone games a pillar of our company’s income, reaching at least 100 billion yen is a must.”

Several new games out came out this week on the eShop. If you’re interested in checking out what’s new in screenshot form, take a look at the gallery below.

Nintendo Switch

Switch has received its first price drop – in Canada that is. Starting today, the system will be sold for $379.99. The original cost was $399.99, to it’s $20 savings.

Retailers have already updated their listings online. Amazon Canada, for example, now lists Switch for the new price.

This month, news made the rounds concerning certain Switch owners who have been abusing the avatar functionality. After hacking the system, these users have been able to display any image as their profile icons.

Unfortunately, this became a problem in Super Mario Odyssey. One player encountered a hacked profile that showed a pornopgraphic image through Luigi’s Balloon World.

Temtem

Temtem, the Pokemon-inspired monster battling RPG, will support cross-platform play. Developer Crema has said that the plan is for all formats to work with each other, except for the PlayStation 4 present. That means Switch players will be able to connect with those on the likes of Xbox One and PC.

Temtem exceeded its $70,000 funding goal on Kickstarter. Over $400,000 has been raised thus far, and Crema intends to have the game ready in 2019.
