Nintendo maintenance schedule as of June 21, 2018

Nintendo has updated its maintenance schedule for the next few days. One session is planned tonight, with two more scheduled for next week.

SmileBoom has announced a new version of SmileBASIC due out next week. Version 3.6.0 can be downloaded starting on June 28.
We have the following details about the patch:
Thank you for waiting! We'll release SmileBASIC Ver.3.6.0 for overseas on June 28th. Some bug fixes, adding the screen capture function, changing the START Button behavior and adding BASIC language function have been made on this update.

New feature on Ver.3.6.0: In the BASIC screen SELECT button enables you to capture both upper and lower screen in JPEG format. Built-in app like Camera or Image Share application can handle captured screens in JPEG format.

CHKMML function has been added on Ver.3.6.0. This is when you want to check MML of the BGMPLAY command works properly or not. It’s the BASIC language function for this update.

Behavior of the START button has been changed on Ver.3.6.0 in order to prevent the START button from terminating a program unexpectedly.

Kickstarter opens for new Switch accessory Flip Grip

A few months ago, we heard that game historian and Retronauts podcast host Jeremy Parish was putting together a vertical grip for Switch in partnership with Fangamer. A Kickstarter for the project, known as Flip Grip, has gone live today here.
Flip Grip will need to reach its $42,500 goal by July 9. If successful, the accessory will move forward. Users will be able to flip the Switch 90 degrees for vertical handheld action.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker demo out now on the North American Switch and 3DS eShops

Nintendo started distributing a demo for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker in Japan and Europe this week. North America has joined in on the fun as well. On both Switch and 3DS, the demo is live in North America.
You can try out three different levels in the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker demo. The full version launches July 13.

Pocket Rumble has finally secured a Switch release date. More than a year after it was originally announced, publisher Chucklefish has confirmed that the fighter is slated for July 5.

Arena of Valor’s closed beta for Switch to be held on June 28, new trailer

Tencent has announced that Arena of Valor’s closed beta on Switch will be held a week from today. The event is set for June 28 in both North America and Europe. Despite it being so close, it seems that you can still register here.
The beta will allow Switch players to experience 5v5 competitive action. When the servers are live, there will be unlimited play for the duration of the event.

Mario Tennis Aces comes with a day-one update, unlocks online tournaments

If you plan on picking up Mario Tennis Aces tomorrow, you should be aware that the game has a day-one update. Downloading the patch unlocks the game’s tournament mode.
Tournament mode will be split into online and offline matches. Along with the Standard Class (standard rules / powers), Simple Class (without the energy meter) is available.
Those who pick up the physical version of Mario Tennis Aces may see that a message on the box about a required 2GB download. Eurogamer says that its digital version with the patch comes in at 1.9GB.
