Square Enix: Switch version of Dragon Quest XI still coming, can’t comment on release date today
Posted on 8 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch | 18 Comments
Earlier today, we learned that the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI will launch on July 29th in Japan. Nothing was said about the Switch version in the announcement stream though. However, journalist Takashi Mochizuki reached out to Square Enix regarding the Switch version of the game and received the following reply:
“It is still planned but no announcements today. Whether it launches together on the same day as PS4 and 3DS or not we cannot say today.”
A fairly noncommittal reply – at this point it seems unlikely that the Switch version will launch on July 29th as well, though Square Enix aren’t ruling it out.

Nintendo’s HackerOne program extended to Switch; first bounties paid
Posted on 8 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in 3DS, News, Switch | 5 Comments
In December of last year, Nintendo announced that it teamed up with HackerOne in order to find security flaws and vulnerabilities concerning the 3DS. Anyone can submit a report detailing such flaws, and if Nintendo deems it significant enough, they will pay the person who submitted the report a bounty ranging from $100 to $20,000, depending on various factors.
Last month, Nintendo extended this deal to include Switch security flaws, specifically the following:
- System vulnerabilities regarding Nintendo Switch
- Privilege escalation from userland
- Kernel takeover
- ARM® TrustZone® takeover
- Vulnerabilities regarding Nintendo-published applications for Nintendo Switch
- Userland takeover
It seems like the program is working, since today Nintendo has rewarded three people with a bounty (the sum was not disclosed).
