Nintendo still trying to deal with connection issues surrounding Splatoon
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 8 Comments
Splatoon’s latest update has been causing issues for some users. While some players have been able to overcome them with a few simple steps, others haven’t been as lucky and have continued to experience problems.
There is at least a small bright spot with this situation. After a fan contacted customer support late last week, Nintendo acknowledged that Splatoon’s latest update has affected players’ connections. The representative mentioned, “this has been identified and escalated to our Head Office, and we are looking to ensure that this is resolved and that our servers are stabilised within the next few days.”
Here’s the full message from Nintendo customer support:
Thank you for your email to Nintendo.
I am sorry to read that you are continuing to experience an issue with your connection on Splatoon online.
We can confirm that due to the update that has occurred, some people are still having their connection affected. However this has been identified and escalated to our Head Office, and we are looking to ensure that this is resolved and that our servers are stabilised within the next few days.
We would recommend for you to continue trying over the weekend to see if you notice any improvements in the connection. We sincerely apologise for any upset or inconvenience that this issue has caused to you.
If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks to John for the tip.

Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 1 Comment
In a blog update on Project X Zone 2’s Japanese site, Monolith Soft producer Koji Ishitani gives us a first look at a vehicle made by Naohiro Washio. Previously, Washio worked on Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Gyrozetter.
Here’s what was shared on the blog (courtesy of Siliconera):
– Dr. Chizuru Urashima is the character in red
– She’s the head of the Shinra’s Equipment Division
– Chizuru pilots a new vehicle called the “Ryuki Ichi-go/Ryuki #1”
– Also known as the Dragonturtle MK. 1 in English
– This is a well-equipped transport vehicle that can travel to various worlds
– More details about it in the future
– Terrain mode and flight mode
– Ishitani has known Naohiro Washio for quite a while now, and previously talked about how it’d be nice to some day work together
– With Project X Zone 2, he felt that now that they could use some of his mecha designs, it’d be now or never
– The Dragonturtle Mk. 1 will be like a mobile base of operations where the characters will gather
– Other guest designers will be revealed in the future

Update: Also North America – IronFall Invasion temporarily pulled from the European 3DS eShop
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 16 Comments
Update: IronFall Invasion has also been removed from the North American 3DS eShop, likely for the same reason.
Announced via one of Nintendo’s Twitter accounts, IronFall Invasion has been temporarily removed from the European 3DS eShop. It will likely be re-added to the digital store at some point in the future.
IRONFALL Invasion is temporarily unavailable on Nintendo eShop. Apologies for the inconvenience. Stay tuned for more information.
— Nintendo of Europe (@NintendoEurope) August 11, 2015
Nintendo didn’t say why IronFall Invasion was removed from the eShop, but the reasoning is pretty clear. It was recently revealed that the download could be used for homebrew on 3DS.

Freedom Planet apparently pushed back again, now out next Thursday
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U eShop | 4 Comments
Update: GalaxyTrail’s official message is below. It doesn’t sound like the developer is committing to a specific date, though the thread title does state August 20.
As luck would have it, a serious bug in the Wii U version of Freedom Planet was found today that causes Wii U consoles to freeze, requiring a hard reset of the system. This bug only occurs in retail versions of the console, so neither Nintendo nor MP2 experienced the issue and we were only made aware of it by members of the press who tried the game over the past couple days.
We cannot allow the game to launch in a state that would potentially cause damage to Wii U consoles or make players think there is something wrong with their console, so we are delaying again until the issue is fixed. No one is more disappointed at this than me, but we have to do what we have to do.
Thank you for your patience and we will continue to update you on the status of our Wii U release.
Freedom Planet was initially scheduled to arrive on the North American Wii U eShop on August 3. Most recently, the title was pushed back to August 13 (this Thursday). Now it’s looking like Freedom Planet is seeing yet another slight delay.
Nintendo is now listing Freedom Planet for release on August 20, which would be next week. Let’s hope that date finally sticks!
