Overpass Rhythm Roadtrip

Publisher The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild and developer Studio Bean have announced that Overpass: Rhythm Roadtrip, a new take on the rhythm genre, is in the works for Switch. The game is arriving sometime in 2022.

Overpass: Rhythm Roadtrip is a rhythm adventure title with a focus on score-chasing, all presented with a unique perspective. Players will drive through pyramid-filled deserts, serene forests, and urban environments to the beat of a synthesized soundtrack from Makeup and Vanity Set. The experience can be customized by taking different routes and using filters, colorful markers, and accessibility options. In total you’ll be seeing eight global regions and 30 original, hand-crafted tracks.

Afterimage

Developer Aurogon Shanghai has announced Afterimage, a new hand-drawn 2D Metroidvania game. It’ll be appearing on Switch in later 2022.

Transient Extended Edition gameplay

Transient: Extended Edition has received 24 minutes of gameplay on Switch. Following its announcement at the end of November, the title is making its way to Switch this week.

Breakneck City release date

Publisher eastasiasoft and developer Renegade Sector Games have determined a release date for Breakneck City, their upcoming old-school 3D beat ’em up game. It’s been announced that the title will arrive on January 5, 2022.

Breakneck City was first confirmed for Switch in October. At the time, it did not have any sort of release window.

The Switch eShop has just been updated with a new “Most Played” section. It can be found in the “Featured” tab of the store and scrolling to the bottom.

Nintendo has listed a bunch of software that’s seen the highest average play time, along with at least 2,500 active players, over the last two weeks. The current list can be found below.


Pokemon Unite has reached another big milestone, with The Pokemon Company revealing today that the free-to-play game has surpassed 50 million downloads worldwide. That number accounts for users on both Switch and mobile.

To celebrate the news, all players will be receiving a special gift. By logging in starting on December 9, they’ll be eligible to claim 2,000 Aeos Tickets. These can be used to buy skins, held items, and item enhancers. The gift will be up for grabs until January 31.

PopSlinger

Funky Can Creative has announced PopSlinger, a vibrant musical shooter inspired by ’90s anime. The game will be available for Switch on January 26, 2022.

The game has players taking on the role of Ria Carbon, “a regular girl turned into the overconfident goofball hero PopSlinger.” It focuses on the character having to save the planet from sinister invaders using soda-powered guns who has received magical powers by a former PopSlinger named Gin.

Memories of East Coast

Eastasiasoft, Roomah Games, and Ratalaika Games have announced that they’re putting Memories of East Coast on Switch. It will be available this Friday, December 10.
